Doonst 2011 Sulphur Springs

Postby Doonst » Tue May 31, 2011 9:04 pm

A week ago I didn't think I'd be running this one, sore achilles tendon had me on light duty all month. So I am glad for what I could do. No PB, no big shallonge, no new distance. But I ran it, easy sure but I ran it all, except of course up some of the hills. It was muddy this year, by far the muddiest I seen in the 6 times I've ran it (5 at this distance, once at 10 K). My longest run this month had been 10 K, so I was a little worried about endurance too. I lagged a bit just after halfway, but then felt good and strong for the last 10, even up the hills. So it went as well as I could have hoped for. Final 2:40, last year 2:18, PB 2:13.
Lots of fun hanging out after with the gang, watching the ultra crowd do their thing. Almost got sunny for a while. Congrats to all those who did so well in those challenging conditions.
Some pictures are up, here's me getting passed by Casual Runner, then Sandra, finally finishing as the fog breaks.

next up:

This broken wing will fly again
One fine day
This blackbird's mute gonna sing again
One fine day

So all you sinners come out
And all you drunkards crawl out
Come into the light of one fine day

It was a pleasure passing you.... I mean seeing you at yet another trail run. Congrats on finishing strong especially with an injury and in such muddy conditions.
