I'm in... all signed up and untrained. I hope I finish the whole thing this year. Last time I got to 82k and had to bail due to bronchitis, so I ended up volunteering for the remainder of the time and listening to runners tell stories of a pet rat they kept seeing on one of the roads. How's that for collective hallucination? :))

Orleans: Best way to find out the skinny on a 100M race is to show up! Bring warm clothes and running gear, for pacing. A great way to get in a "short" 60K or so...

Absolutely agree -- I really wish I lived closer to where all the action is -- unfortunately everything is at least 5 - 6 hours away, so "getting away" for a training run/pacing gig is challenging.... (putting on thinking cap!!) :D

I'm still jealous... He had a woodstove in his bus, came with a pacer and THREE volunteers. They made grilled cheese sandwhiches for 20 hours!

2nd pair of thermal tights ...CHECK
New Gorte-Tex Trail Shoes ....CHECK
New thermal long sleeve T ( Heavy) ...On back-order
CREW ... CHECK and DOUBLE CHECK
Getting my go long in cold mental on ...started when I signed up

I am really looking forward to giving the distance a go in the cold. For me this race is a huge opportunity to try something new.

Thanks for hosting the training run Pierre! The weather was perfect and the course was nicely groomed. Hopefully this weather holds out for the next two weeks!

And for anyone who is still interested in running but missed the boat -- there has been a cancellation so there is still room for one more!

I will also not be attending, came back from JFK50 and it seems that my foot is having some issues, going to see if something is broken.

I hope you had a great time. I found it quite difficult but certainly it was worth going down for the 50th running of it. I see that Ellie Greenwood won the women's race in record time!! Sorry to hijack this thread! :)
