Trying to motivate myself to go out for a run. So far, it's not working.

Re: SUNDAY bluster
Good thing I got my long run in yesterday when it was only slightly unrunnable. 10K this morning in even colder conditions (-35 WC -44) but the biggest obstacle was the hard snow drifts that covered some sidewalks knee deep. You know you probably should have stayed home when snow-shoveling homeowners are applauding you as you run by.

Re: SUNDAY bluster
Aside from shoveling there won't be any activity for me today, other than getting into my bathtub. A little stiff today but not too bad!
Re: SUNDAY bluster
Ventured out with the RR crew this morning in mucky conditions! Route was described as 13kish. Was actually 14.5 k. The last 4 k were a real slog on slippery residential streets.
Great company though!

That drives me mad! Group leaders should be told it's not cool to falsely advertise run distances. Some do it intentionally thinking that people will "thank" them later for having pushed them to run further than they thought they could, but I just think it's bad form for a leader to do that. And if it's unintentional, then they should learn how to properly map out a route.

No run this morning - we headed to Gatineau Park for some snowshoeing. It was PERFECT out there - new snow, mild temps, gorgeous trail conditions. Headed out to Healey Cabin and back with DH for a total of 1hr45minutes round-trip.
Ottawa folks - get outside today! It's finally nice out!

Especially on a day like today where the going was tough. Apparently this clinic leader is known for doing this.

It's beautiful here today - sunny and +3! After 72 hours of not leaving the house due to this head cold, I got out for a very short walk - 2.3k. That's about all I had in me for today.

Gorgeous day here as well.
Did 9.5k with the Bonsor crew in sunshine, the mountains were looking beautiful but bare. Hopefully it will be cold enough next week that our rain will be snow for the mountains.

Re: SUNDAY bluster
5K time trial with the UBC Group Study this morning, perfect conditions for our run this morning (0C). Came out with a steady effort this morning, 5k in 24:58.xx About 10 seconds off my unofficial time, but still a solid effort.

Re: SUNDAY bluster
Just shy of 5km this morning on a couple of centimetres of grainy, slushy, slippery crap. Even given that I'm just getting back at it after a couple of months of minimal running, that felt way harder than it should have been. Is it spring yet?

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

Re: SUNDAY bluster
Wow, it was hard to get myself moving today! I don't really know why - had enough sleep, etc., but just didn't feel like running. Even though it was relatively warm and the footing in most places was probably okay. Sometimes a little snow can actually improve traction. Anyway, in the end DH and I shovelled up the snow from last night and then we went to the indoor track and I ran 18 km at a pretty brisk pace, once I was warmed up and into it. As always, the feeling of getting it done was worth the effort it took just to get going. Running indoors was a little wimpy but if that's what it takes, well, it beats not running at all.

Sherbrooke almost thawed today, but that didn't improve running conditions. We just had some mashed potatoes on top of the sheet ice. More freezing rain starting tonight. Anyway, I ran 4k at WARP.
