FRIDAY!!!

Postby Sandra » Fri Jan 17, 2014 7:26 am

6.5 km for me this morning. Woke up to snowy roads and sidewalks so the debate of the tm vs outside began...took it outside for a slow run in the snow and enjoyed every minute of it! :D

10.5 for me today. I'm starting to get pretty bored of having to stay on my road loop around town due to the icy trails and back roads, so I headed down to Presqu'ile to see how it was. The beach was too slippery, but some of the trails weren't too bad- still had to be careful, and I'd occasionally break through the top crust, but it was a nice change from the roads.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

TGIF!!! My original plan was to run outside this morning, but I didn't want to risk it with the snow. Up until last night, there had been enough melting that the sidewalks were mostly clear, and with my headlamp I would have been able to see a reflection off any icy patches and avoid them. But I didn't feel confident enough to run on the fresh snow and trust that there was no ice underneath. Maybe I'm being too cautious but I keep thinking that one slip and fall could mean weeks of no running. We were a little bit late leaving for the gym because we had to do the minimal amount of snow removal at our house, but I still had time for a little more than 10 km on the TM (6.37 miles, to be exact). Really hoping to run some distance outside this weekend, so we'll see how things unfold.

Have a good day, everyone. :)

45 minutes on the treadmill before work this morning. Still recovering from last night's killer kettlebell/trx class. Limping around today, but happy!

I've been hanging out here, reading Andy's report and waiting for my morning coffee to get out. I am now going jogging. See you later.

Got to the pool for 1200m in 30 minutes.

I did just over 6 and a half km nice and steady at a 5:35 pace, then two 300m strides. I am finding they are helping me to get some spring back in my step! The roads weren't bad here- just wet mostly. I still stayed off the sidewalks though.

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

Just over 9k with Stampie. :) thanks for the run Bryan. I did a bit of a warmup run before I met him so I'll call it 10k total for me.

Long hike through Taylor Creek Park - VERY slippery !
The devastation from the ice storm last month is incredible, so many old growth trees destroyed.
At points, the trail was barely passable because of the deadfall.
Its going to be a while getting the parklands cleared up... :(

10K done this afternoon.
This was my first run on my usual Lakeshore Rd. route since all the snow, ice, etc. arrived. Being a creature of habit was good to get back to that route but the run itself was not great.
At least I got 'er done.

I did a short 8km loop from Whyte Ave down to the Kinsmen Sports Center across to Emily Murphy Park. The trails are pretty good shape, overall. The weather here is great.
