Yes! It was windy! 4k on my own today followed by a slow 7.5 k with the clinic. Except for the wind, it was all good!

Weather Channel said -6C with a wind chill of -15, I think they were being overly optimistic...

You know it's windy when you run a 7.5k out-and-back with a 4 or 5 minute negative split!

8k around Deer Lake, there was a nasty chill zone on the way down to the lake and on the way back up from the lake. Sluggish run on tired legs.

Gorgeous +2 sunny day, a bit windy 11k with the dog. Did the last third in my t-shirt, jacket way too hot even with the wind.
Re: Changing Temperature Sunday!
30km spin and 3km run done. Followed by 30 mins of strength and core. Now football time, go 49ers!!

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

Re: Changing Temperature Sunday!
We've had an unusual deep freeze in December, 2.5 times as much snow as is usual for this time of year, thousands of snow and ice calls to the city, and impassable sidewalks from the ice. So what's the next logical thing in Calgary? That's right - shorts weather!
10k in shorts this afternoon. Incredible day - sunny, warm, and soggy (from all the melting).

17.5 mile trail run.
I was aiming for 18 but miscalculated my route and had not the desire to tack on the extra .5. ;)

Re: Changing Temperature Sunday!
It's been a pretty good weekend of running. Yesterday was my first run in ages with my usual running buddy - with the snow, ice, holidays, travel, etc., I'm not sure when we last got out together. I was a little worried about the footing after the fresh snow on Friday night, but except for a few areas close to home, it was okay. Not ideal, you still had to watch, but really not bad. And although it was below freezing, it was sunny, so my face didn't get cold. I was joking to DH that I had put on so much protective cream that you could fry an egg on my face if I stood in the sun. But it really does make a difference.
Today I just could not face the wind and the wind chill. From inside I could hear it howling, and looking outside the trees were shaking and there were little snow devils whirling through my front yard. So after a leisurely morning with the Sunday paper, we went to the indoor track and I ran 24 km. Very tough mentally and a little challenging physically. Basically, I really just wanted to be lazy and not run today. For the first time I ran with an iPod and that did help. I'm going to get some proper running ear buds because this winter is looking like a lot of indoor running and the music does make a difference. Running indoors may brand me as a complete Weather Wimp, but that's ok! I didn't get frost bite, my water bottle didn't freeze, and I didn't slip on the ice.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend - still a few hours left before the Monday morning blahs...

Re: Changing Temperature Sunday!
Yes, it was windy and blowing snow and still ice underfoot, but I toughed it out for my longest outdoor winter run of the season: 7.37k. I feel pretty good about that!
