Today will be either 15k or 19k, I was leaning towards 19k but I think there's only one other person running today who's training for a half. I would hate to make her go for coffee all by herself :)

It's a beautiful day in Dartmouth - sun, +1, no wind. Perfect for 5k along the waterfront trail.

It's the same across the mud puddle - beautiful out :). Had a great run w/ a friend but should have planned my long run for today. Looks like tomorrow is snow and wind :(.
We train more joyfully and productively when we focus on the now, rather than on our future race day performance. It's a long road from here to there with many miles to go. We need to run each one. Accept where you are today and simply be thankful for the work you've accomplished. KA

In light of the coming storm, I did my long run (22 km) today instead of tomorrow. Footing was perfect. Too bad it will get worse in the next few days. Lots of skaters on the Rideau Canal.

22 k here as well! Started off great, but then the snow started! Still, it was a nice run, just slow! Very nice to be outside :)

Did what I call my monthly check in run. Basically a short run to see how my hamstring is doing. After 3 months of no running, for the first time, I ran without any pain. So the plan is to keep going and hopefully the hamstring has finally healed and this is the start back. Mind you if I had to pick a winter to sit out with an injury this was a good one. I stuck to the treadmill this morning!

26k in -17C, -24WC. According to Ian's Stupid Scale, that scores 624 and falls into the extremely stupid category. Which sounds about right.

January was a bit of a slacker month for me and running. Spent more time on the bike trainer in hopes of giving the hamstring/glute/hip issues a break. Will try for a short 5-6km run tomorrow. Today was 1 1/2 hrs on the bike trainer with the bike team. Here's hoping February is A LOT warmer than January was.....

Ended up doing 18k as the one person running short wasn't staying for coffee. It was fun seeing all the runners out doing training runs around False Creek - lots of folks getting ready for the First Half and BMO.

Love it. Runs like this will pay off in the second half of the ultra. Not to mention, between the cold and the exercise, you probably burned a day's worth of calories in a tenth of a day.

13K on sloppy hilly country roads in the gently falling snow.

I spent my mental energy in the last 5k planning an epic lunch and reminding myself that race day will be a minimum 25-30 degrees warmer  . Although With Calgary weather, it actually isn't guaranteed that we won't have snow in June.

Had a great 10kms this morning with a running buddy. Wondering what the streets will be like in Ottawa tomorrow morning with all the snow expected.

Got outside today for a nice 13 km run with QC and another running buddy. 10 km with them and the last 3 km on my own. It was snowing but not too heavily, and the footing was okay. Not great, but okay. I briefly considered adding 8 km and making it my long run for the weekend, but my feet were soaked from slush and a couple of puddles so that wasn't too appealing.

Just finished some cross-training a.k.a. snow shovelling with DH. Not much fun dealing with the wet heavy stuff at the bottom but probably burned a few extra calories that way.

Based on the snow that has already fallen and the promise of more overnight, I'm guessing tomorrow's long run will be TM or track or some combination of the two. The temps will b nice but the uncleared sidewalks + slush + ice will be a royal pain. But no need to decide right now.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. :)
