Go Canada Go Sunday

I am still way to sick for anything. Keeping tabs on the game from my bed.

I'm sick, too. Might head out this afternoon if I feel better.

You know people are hard-core hockey fans when they postpone their long run to 10AM so that they can watch the game.

A really easy 3K for me on the TM. Coming off a week where a chest cold had me down and out, so I wanted to ease back into it and not do anything stupid. Happy to report that I'm starting feel human again!

Arghh. Had to miss the hockey game to go out for 12k with my clinic. Oh well. I'll watch the repeat this afternoon.

I was surprised at the turnout today!

We went for a quick walk at 7:30 before the game started, and then headed out for a 5k run once it was over. It's another gorgeous day in Halifax, so might head out for another walk this afternoon.

Watched most of the hockey in bed this morning (thank goodness for the CBC olympic app - really great not to have to get out of bed and go all the way to the basement to watch  ), then 14k on the TM. It was cold enough that my kids' "spring session" skiing lessons were cancelled today, so I wasn't running outside if I could help it!

Beautiful day here- nice and sunny, and just a bit below zero.

Ran the Red Barn Snowshoe Race this morning- 4th overall, 1st in Men's Masters. Won a whole load of loot!
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Hypothermic half in Winnipeg lived up to its name. -28 to 30 with the very brisk wind chill. It is a beautiful route that changes direction many times thus relieving the wind chill. I did get frost nipped on my cheek though. We got to watch the first 1+ periods of hockey. The wonderful volunteers on the race course kept us updated on the score. As usual, the post race food was awesome.
I love races, so much excitement!

Lots of snow here. Well, lots being about 6-10 cm and still coming down. It's pretty warm and sidewalks are variable- some clear, some snowy, some slushy with big slush puddles in some places (but no ice). My plan was to jog to and from the gym (about 2.5k each way) and do about an hour run on the treadmill while there, but I could only stay on the treadmill for 30 minutes (people waiting). So I extended the run home. I had on my stabilicers but it was still pretty slow going.

In the end I ran for about 90 minutes, 14k total, including 9k outside and 5k inside.

This is one of those days when I wish I had either a treadmill at home or some nice packed trails to run on near home. But I got it done and it was quite enjoyable.

Fun, snowy run here with the Sun Run clinic, participation was down today - either due to the snow or due to folks being sleep deprived. Sidewalks and the park were kind of slushy but overall not bad. Took the opportunity to make a quick snow angel in the park :D

Ian and Kab you guys are hardcore!! It was gorgeous in Montreal, sunny and 1 oC (feels like -6) so really nothing to complain about!

I ran 8 miles with my DH, longest run in a year & since my stress fracture. It was going well until my hip bugged me around 7 miles, not sure what's going with that....

I took a couple of days off from running. My left knee is acting weird. I am off to the Y for a workout, though.

This made me smile :). I'm not a hard core hockey fan (huge Olympic fan) but my running partner is (along w/ my son and husband). So we watched the game and then headed out for 20 miles on a beautiful February day. We even got a bit of sun because we were running in the early afternoon. The run was strong & steady - feeling good these days!
We train more joyfully and productively when we focus on the now, rather than on our future race day performance. It's a long road from here to there with many miles to go. We need to run each one. Accept where you are today and simply be thankful for the work you've accomplished. KA

10km this morning with two hills. A tough one since I haven't been running a lot lately due to hamstring issues.
