Saturday- no one awake yet?

Postby Jwolf » Sat Mar 22, 2014 9:22 am

I did a treadmill run this morning because I woke up in the dark. It's beautiful here in Key Largo! I will swim later- perhaps an actual open water swim or maybe just play in the water. :)

Saturday In The Park

Postby marymac442 » Sat Mar 22, 2014 9:22 am

And around the city.

Heading out shortly for 19k or so, the forecast is for cold(ish) 4c and showers. It would be really nice if the showers would hold off, then it would be great running weather.

I suspect my hands will freeze again this afternoon for paddling.

Oops now we have two Saturday topics. I'll leave it to someone with more power than me to combine them.
19k is the plan-ish, will see what it ends up being.

16k on a windy, but not too cold morning. Scoped out my route for tomorrow's group run. Its a great route, but it might not be if everything freezes overnight as expected. :(

Hit the TM at 7AM for a nice 14K. I wanted to get outside this weekend but didn't feel like putting up with the snow this morning. Overall, it was a very good run and I feel nice and refreshed to go explore the rest of the weekend.

Have a good one everyone!

14K done. Mix of sun and cloud, about 3-4C, but quite windy from the NW. I'm glad my long run is done because I'm not sure what tomorrow will bring, so I'm happy to have it out of the way.

5.5 miles slow to save my legs for tomorrow. My friend just texted me that his car broke down so I am on my own tomorrow after all!

The day went as expected, nice weather for the run and then the temperature dropped 5 degrees (or so it felt), the wind picked up and the rain started, just in time for Dragon boating - blech!

L'Arche Half in Calgary? I did it as well if so.

Doing okay with a 1:54 pace until the turnaround but that brutal, freezing wind all the way back pretty much slayed me. Not a very good time for me. Gotta toughen up!! Or get younger.

Picked up a cup of Gatorade at one station and it was frozen solid. Lamented "that wind!!" to one of the volunteers at the finish line but it came out twice as "that win!!!" because my mouth was too frozen to say it properly. Got a confused look for that so I stopped whining. Funny day.
Dear Lord, help me be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.
