A few pics from the Toad

Postby Kristi » Mon Oct 02, 2006 4:53 pm

I was lucky enough to be a spectator at this very fun event! It was great to see some friendly faces again (although some were friendly at the beginning of the race than they were at the end!!). Some of the pics are the same as Adam's but I'm too lazy to go through and compare them all, so you may see some twice!

And they're off!!

Ryne maintaining his 4th place position the whole time

A very speedy Nick (you'll notice that I didn't post the super grumpy one of you at the finish line!!)

Sheldon - strong and steady as always

James - with a smile as he smoked that course!!

Barbara, running strong on race #5

The three musketeers??

Or are these the three musketeers??

Erin...doing something...what were you doing?? :)

The fabulous hoodies (my hair should NOT be allowed out in damp weather!!)

Pat, happy after a great race

Erin and I in our ganster hoodies (but I maintain that you can't be a ganster in mittens!)

Terrific photos Kristi. Makes me wish I had got myself one of those hoodies, but I'm saving for new running shoes and the timing just wasn't right  Maybe next time.

err, if you look quickly, and expect Ryne to be running on the road, he looks like he is flying!! (why is the cone on the grass in his pics - so it looks like he's cutting the course, yet, on the road in the other pics?)

This broken wing will fly again
One fine day
This blackbird's mute gonna sing again
One fine day

So all you sinners come out
And all you drunkards crawl out
Come into the light of one fine day

I believe that was the spot where they sent us onto the grass and off into the woods.

I thought that Ryne was flying the first timet that I looked quickly at that picture too!

This is the spot where the sharp left turn was not too distinct so after a little while some of us spectators moved the pylon so it was easier for the runners to see where they were supposed to go. There was a whole group of us yelling "LEFT!! Stay to the LEFT!!" because people kept wanting to go the wrong way!
