I have a very very wide range of music that I run to and always on shuffle.

When its -15C and wind chill is -25C on a long run nothing picks up my spirits more the Shabba! The sun starts to shine and all of a sudden it is warm (in my mind anyway)

I downloaded Flo Rida's "Elevator" today and it was great to run to- it has a good beat. I also threw 2Pac's "California Love" onto my list in honour of feeling warm, and it is going to be a permanent addition! It's the perfect tempo to run to- I think it was pretty close to a 180 cadence when I ran to the beat. I was singing to myself on the spit- it was pretty funny- "Shake it shake it baby..."

Robbie, you're right- reggae is awesome in this weather. I am going to throw some SHABBA! into my list too.

The perfect opportunity to say how much I like Sia.

I've said it before but I still think you look a lot like Lauren Ambrose, who is fittingly the "star" of this Sia video.

I tend to tailor the list according to when I need a picker-upper. Currently in my MP3 player:

Banana Pancakes - Jack Johnson
Seven Day Fool - Jully Black
Sweet Dreams (Remix) - Eurythmics
Journey to the Island (selection) - John Williams
Russian Dance Trepak (Nutcracker suite) - Tchaikovsky
Harder Better Faster Stronger - Daft Punk
Way I Are - Timbaland
Ride of the Valkyries - Richard Wanger
Suddenly I see - KT Tunstall

Everything runs for a little over 30mins. The classical pieces are EASILY my favourite thing for picker uppers!

Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there! - Will Rogers

what a great topic!

i used to run to what i call "party music" stuff you'd hear at the bar and what not. I enjoyed it.

One day i went out for a run, and realized that i only had country music on my iPod , and was dissapointed since i only ran to "party music". I decided to go on, with my country music (and i love country...just didn't even think to run to it)....and it was the BEST run of my life. Hands down.

SOOO....now i only ever run to country...mostly keith urban, carrie underwood, rascall flatts, paul brandt, and a few others tossed in there. Even the slower songs......i absolutely love it!

Pretty well anything by The Cat Empire - especially love
Sol Y Sombra and The Rhythm (you have to get past the
slow intro for this)
