Me too... first one, can't wait.

My purely running one is ATB, but it's 30k, not an option on the list either. I'm just SOL on this poll.

I run for a good time, not a long distance.
10k is my target race. Anything longer simply kicks the *** out of me and isn't fun.

No good deed goes unpunished. You could have put unlimited choices in your poll and someone would still complain you forgot the Beer Mile or the Naked Fun Run.

I want to run a fast 5km this year. So that's what I voted for, but once I run a sub 20min 5km I'll change my focus to the 10km aiming for close to 40min.

Then, if I manage that, I'll move up to 21.1km and a sub 1:35 (around 1:32 is my goal).

But for now 5km is the focus.

I never thought I'd say this (well, I did already a couple weeks ago in a different thread), but this might be the year of two marathons, if I can stay healthy.

Well I am going for a sub 19:00 5km, 20:00 is my primary goal which I will try to break tommorrow morning on a training run since I have already broke 26:00 in a 6km (23:04) so I am pretty confident in my time for tommorrow if it isn't icy  I need to get down to about 17:00 for 5km for XC OFFSA though if i want a chance of winning.

I voted for half marathon..But I would also like to keep my speed , I have ran a 4:14 , in the 1500 meter. So I wanna take a crack at the mile..see how fast I will run it.

I need to have a half marathon plan that will help me keep my speed becuase last track season I was training as an 800 meter runner and I really dont want to lose my quikness

My focus is the 5 km. My goal for May was sub 18, but the knee will be the ultimate factor as to whether I can actually undertake the training required.

i was going to vote for 30K ATB. you know - just being able to stand up at the finish, etc.

but due to poll constraints, i'll have to go with a PB in the half. somewhere in the 1:3X range. i've never run the Mississauga course (other than 5km) so maybe i'll do that in May.

I didn't vote because I haven't decided. I'm going to do ATB for sure - that's my first goal of the year, and then after that - we'll see.

my gimmick this year will be multiple marathons in short time periods..

3 marathons in 8 days planned in april.

might try 6 in 16 days in sept/oct!

if i can't run fast, then i will run more and take advantage of my insanely good ability to recover quickly from long runs!

Taking some time off my half is goal for this year. Would also like to try and take a minute or two off my 10K time.
