Definitely!! :D Is the Five Island Provincial Park the closest to the race location?

I'm going to drive down, camp for 3-5 days and then I would love to experience Canada Day in Halifax. Any idea on what the city has planned for the celebration?

I'm so excited!!

Kara, I thought about it during my run...... and kept saying to myself..... what is there to think about about - you're going!! Thanks for the push. Will you be there? It would be great to see you again.

That's great!

I'm not an expert but the Provincial Park is literally minutes away from the start line, so that is the place to camp I think. Jacqui stayed in the Park last year.

Will you be there Denis? It would be nice to meet you.

BTW, I did get that freelance job and the first issue is going to print next week. :D

All Nova Scotia Provincial Parks are alcohol-free from the park opening date to July 1st for the 2008 season. Alcohol-free means no alcohol is permitted in the park.

OK, someone forgot to mention this! Oh well, I'm sure there are pubs nearby.

Yep, I registered today for the 10K!

Great to hear about the freelance job!

I'm looking forward to meeting you too!

I was waiting for some of the experts to weigh in on the Halifax July 1 celebrations. I think they usually have beer tents set up on the waterfront and have fireworks at night. There is also (probably) the HBC Run if you want to do 2 runs in a three day span!

Canada day in the 'fax is foggy fireworks....

The HBC Canada Day 10K is not being held anywhere in Canada. (that's my understanding anyhow).

Let us know what you're looking for, we'll take care down east style.

So, just a quick head count. 7 maniacs signed up and its only mid-Feb. Awesome!

Sherry....you are in for a treat. These people know the meaning of "living life"

Hmm...I wonder if Dennis will "pipe" you in to the Maritimes. One of my many fond memories of CTRR 2006 was Dennis at the airport with a tape recorder playing bagpipe music as the out of province Maniacs arrived on their flights. Yes...other passengers who were not being "piped in" looked darn right sad

I've been wanting to do it since I read the race reports from last year.... if the stars aligned I'll be there.

Does this race solds out? If so when would it expect to be selling out?

Yes, it sells out. But maybe not so fast this year. In previous years there were 200-250 spots total. This year, 250 5K spots on Saturday and 250 10K spots on Sunday.

The 10K is simply unforgettable!
