Moose is Loose Half Marathon (Edmonton, Alberta)

The Moose is Loose is a fantastic half-marathon, which I really enjoyed running.
The course starts at Hawerluk Park and goes half-way around the golf course before doubling back and then extending into the Whitemud Ravine. Most of the run is on wood chip trails, with a bit of dirt and pavement here and there. Most of the run is also shaded. The scenery is beautiful.
It is a smaller event (a couple hundred participants) but it is chip-timed and the organization was good. The volunteers were fantastic--this year the race was raising money for homes for people with disabilities, so the volunteers were enthusiastic and plentiful. The route was well marked with volunteers and ribbons so that we wouldn't get lost (I'm told this is an improvement from previous years).
Overall a great race and lots of fun. I highly recommend it! :)
