St. Patrick's Day 5k and 10k
(Calgary, Alberta)

Organized by the Calgary Road Runners - well run race although there was a bit of confusion the year that I ran it because they had to move the start line. Long Sleeved t-shirt, good food and gold, silver and bronze medals for the top three finishers in each age category - got a cool silver medal in a 5 K race. A nice Irish Stew was served following the race.

Good course, 5 K once around the U of C, 10 K is do the same route twice.

The bad: Traffic is allowed in an on coming lane and buses pass you when there is no on coming traffic. The biggest problem is the 10 K race goes first and the 5 K started 10 minutes later. What they meant was just as I got going in the 5 K race, hit the back of the pack 10K. Fun darting into the on coming lane to avoid the 8 wide 10K runners who were having a nice chat.
