Walt Disney World Marathon
(Orlando, Florida)

Do the DisneyWorld Marathon at least once. Be aware that it is crowded and a lot of beginning runners participate, especially the half-marathon on Saturday. There are usually no world class runners here as everyone seems to run this one for fun. The course is flat and runs through all the Lands. Thus there are a lot of turns and curves. If I do it again I will go for the Goofy where you run the half on Saturday and the full Marathon on Sunday. By doing the Goofy you get a Mickey Medal, A Donald Duck Medal and a Goofy Medal. The characters are great and they have handlers to take your photo with the characters. If doing your PB is not on the agenda I can recommend this event. Also my advice is to stay at one of the Disney Properties as it is much easier to get to the staging areas using the Disney Transportation System.
