Springbank Half Marathon (London, Ontario)
Author: dgrant
Date: 2006-09-16
Date: Sept 10, 2006
City : London ON (two hours southwest of Toronto)
Price: $40, $50 on raceday
Shirt: Nice long sleeve wicking
Field: About 300 runners. Unusually fast crowd.
Course: Out-and-back through a riverside park. Very flat, with one hill in the final kilometre. Almost 100% asphalt. Lots of shade.
Aid stations: At least 3 or 4, multiplied by two because it's out-and-back. Water and Eload.
Medal: Okay, kind of generic.
Post Race: Pizza, Juice, Pop, Massages, Door Prizes, Kiddies Race.
Overall I really enjoyed this race. It is fast and flat. Very good organization. Not much hype or spectator turnout, but a nice fun atmosphere. Only negative was no chip-timing , but the manual system gave me the same time as I clocked for myself.
