Running and Pregnancy
Hey, I'm looking for some advice about running and pregnancy. Anyone have any experience running while pregnant? For how long into the pregnancy can you run, and how much do you need to cut back? I just found out I'm about 13 weeks and have been running like I normally would about 30 - 40 miles/week...

Thanks for all the input, so far I've tested (in store) the RR belts, camelback and MEC belts. Anyone have any idea where in GTA I could find a store with ultimate direction belts? I have a friend who used the camelback waist reservoir belt and had to stop because of bad chafing, anyone else have th...

Fuel Belts
I'm looking for some advice. I want to buy a fuel belt, not the ones with the little gel bottles, but the kind that holds a water bottle and also has a zip pouch/pouches to hold things. The last one I had never stayed in one place so I was constantly tightening it which ended up being very annoying!...
Hey, I didn't do it :( I ended up getting really sick the week of the marathon and couldn't even get out of bed, let alone run. So it's kind of a letdown, all that training and no race. Now, I'm trying to decide between running Boston (I qualified from a marathon I ran last year) or doing my first 5...

Marathon time is about 3:35 but on low training mileage - long runs of 32 kms, but just 2 weekly runs of 8 km each. I am now running about 5 days per week. My only other question is about eating during the run? I can't stand energy bars of any kind, and gels don't go down that well either - any sugg...

Hi, A few other questions - how many of these long!! runs should I be doing before attempting a 50 mile race? I was thinking of one in the spring - but not sure how the training will go throughout the winter. As to which 50 mile to attempt - any suggestions are welcome - I live in the Guelph area of...

Actually I'm a she :) I have done a few trail races and found that I like them so much more than road races, which is why I considered maybe doing a 50 mile race. The other question I had, aside from getting in enough mileage in training is how much should I be eating and what?? In the two marathons...

Training for an ultra
I've completed 2 marathons and am looking for a new challenge. I was thinking of attempting a 50 mile race, sometime next year. Does anyone have any training advice? How much more mileage should I be doing compared to marathon training?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Calf Pain
Thanks for all the advice and welcome to the board. Most of my training is done off road on trails, but I have been doing a lot of hills over the last month or so, which could be a contributing factor - although I didn't start having any pain until the last week. What stretches would be effective fo...
Calf Pain
Hello - I am looking for some advice. I'm in the final weeks of marathon training and have been noticing some tigtness in the bottom of both calf muscles, descending down almost to my heel. I stretch my calves after every run, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Has anyone experienced anything simila...
