Re: 2014 Boston Marathon Week

Long time no post, but just thought I'd check back in here ahead of Boston on Monday. I am heading over to run it (Bib #3697, Corral 1/4), but will be once again running to enjoy it rather than gunning for a PB. Good luck to everyone and travel safely!

Re: Canadian Running Newbie

Good to hear from you. I also ran the 2012 Iroquois Trail Run in preparation for my JFK 50 Miler in Maryland in November. I am sorry, we didn't get to chat. I am planning on running the Belfast Marathon in May 2014. I registered for it in 2011 but had a torn hamstring and ended up walking the race ...

Re: Canadian Running Newbie

So, over 3 years after I started this thread prior to my move to Canada, I felt it was time to put a bookend on it. I moved back to Ireland in September 2012, the Iroquois Trail Test 32k being my last race (and what a race!). While I loved Canada, Toronto etc., we moved back for family reasons. I ki...

Re: STWM Course change!

I think its pretty cool having those extra sections in it, taking in Bloor, Bathurst, Church (I think) and a few other spots. Toronto has some nice streets that should be seen more often in races! Places like College Street, Queen West would be nice too add in too - more of a city feel to it. The fi...

Totally enjoyed the Ottawa Half today. Very professionally organised, well supported, a credit to the city. I was delighted to see the cloud cover at the start, however by about 10k I was in the full heat of the sun. Nonetheless, I kept a solid pace throughout (3:54-3:56/km) to bring it home in a ne...

I just ran the half marathon route. I parked at Remic Rapids and started at the 10.5km mark of the route and ran the second half before heading over to Elgin Street to run the first half of the route to complete my loop. It is a very good course, a quick one. Very few hills, the most notable are: O...

Apart from the timing, how did they do? Similar quality/organization to the old SL10k? jono I'm only going to give you my opinion. It was fantastic. There were issues common to many races this size (number of port-o-pottiies) etc, but the start was orderly, course fast and fantastic, and the finish...

Where are the WR times, or have they been removed now? A couple 12-minute and 13-minute 5K splits and lots of 16-17-minute 5K splits: Also a lot of 20/30-ish crazy split times similar to what fit-kitty describes. http://www.chiptimeresults.com/resultsreader.php?y=2012&r=SportinglifeS.htm" oncli...
