Hellooooo?
Been gone for awhile. Have been shy to come back because it's been so long. How disappointing to come back to an empty room... After nearly 20 years, a wedding, 2 kids, 3 moves (one to another province), a divorce, and another 3 moves (in one year), and beating cancer. I'm here again. so... how YOU ...

Re: Half vent/half looking for advice...
I'm rather late in the game here... and I admit I didn't read all the replies so someone may have already suggested this.... or you may be back at work and it's non-issue. Do you know of any other Mom's or retired neighbours around you right now? You could do a baby swap with another Mom you know du...

Maybe I'm missing the point... or I'm off topic a bit... but if she's interested in going with you, and the distance you are running is too far, is a scooter or a bike a good option? The bike being for her... not you  At 7 years I'm sure I logged a LOT of kms on my bike. It could be a like a R...

Can' t believe I've lived here for nearly 4 years AND run the police half and never discovered the gym/track over there till now. How do you run the Police Half without noticing the gym and track? The package pickup AND the food are in there! seriously? it's a great facility - and they offer some a...

Can' t believe I've lived here for nearly 4 years AND run the police half and never discovered the gym/track over there till now. Thanks to Sheena for suggestin...

Buy a calorie book So are these books readily available? Do they have regular food in it like apples, banana's etc. My biggest issue with all the online calorie trackers is that I have to spend hours entering all my recipes or if the cookbook is recent enough the nutrition content myself. I just do...

This morning was just perfect for a while, running along the canal tow path in Perth, with warm sun on top and cool wet grass and leaves brushing my legs. I started hearing the birds, and at my turnaround, I stopped for five minutes, just listening to the birds and frogs, and while I stopped the bi...

Re: Protien bar recipe?
Anyone have a tried and true recipe for protien bars? there is a recipe for athletes cookies in the desserts/snacks sticky thread that may suite your needs. The recipe itself includes raisins and chocolate chips but you could probably change up the additions to your liking - I like dates and almond...

I just noticed this thread and wish I found it a few days ago! I've started/stopped/started/stopped etc - usually from laziness, once for pregnancy. After pregnancy, I had an awful time getting back into it. The best motivational advice I got was from my DH - he reminded me I never feel worse after...

We are slowly going veggie here - don't think we could ever give up eggs and milk. kids aren't as fond of our veggie meals. I'm trying to only eat 2 to 3 meals of meat per week. Does anyone have suggestion for veggie meals that are compartmentalized like traditional omnivore meals? IE Protein, starc...

babysteps if you like running HM's then keep at it. If not, maybe it's time to change your focus? Would you be interested in spending the next year or so concentrating on shorter faster distances? Just to mix it up, and the end result likely will be a faster HM. Plus you can save time by having shor...

Re: Beginning again
How do you start anew? Hmmm not so sure how to phrase this but I KNOW how to start the running again, just get out there with my plan and do it but how do you mentally start again? I find that I keep thinking back to what I used to be capable of doing and what I wanted to do and I get down on mysel...

Gotta get rid of that work thing, takes up way too much time. I started working from home. It helps :-) My 1 year old and 3 year old are very recently allowing me to sleep through. But I admit that I tend to stay up till 11pm just because I really cherish the time to myself after the kids are aslee...
