Re: Boston Marathon

You can descend from your high horse now eh. Don't we already have a few charity volunteer relay/ walks / runs out there already ? The CIBC Run for the Cure taking place around the country Sunday is a typical example, and yes I've volunteered my time last 3yrs for this. My point which you failed to ...

Boston Marathon

This race really needs to do a better revamp to mitigate the issue they are currently facing. If you set the same qualifying times regardless of age and gender, there won't be the issue of having to come up with certain timings faster than your BQ time. What they failed to mention so far, is how man...

Re: Ottawa Race Weekend 2017 - Voyageur Challenge

@ TeamHoundandRedhead ...I think when most people signed up for the race, they didn't anticipate the time of the day or the crowd for all those races. I saw people passing out from cramps, dehydration and being tired from the day before. The key was to run the races conservatively...but some people ...

A number of runners at the Maine Coast Marathon in Biddeford ran additional distance because participants were directed “off course by a volunteer.” The incident occurred around the 20K point of the race as runners did an out-and-back on a dead end road. http://runningmagazine.ca/2017-maine-coast-ma...

But I got out for a nice 11.6 km this afternoon. Lovely day for it, slightly cool but once you're runn...

Increase in Canadian marathoners

This weekend will see some potentially major performances for two of Canada's developing long distance runners, Seth Marcaccio and Blair Morgan. Athletics Canada, the nation’s governing body of running, decided to revise the 2017 IAAF World Championships marathon standard back in February. That has ...

Looking at his 1/2 Mary time, it was clear that this wasn't going to happen. $250 US for that funny looking shoes? On the contrary, but then again I can pull up the results from a myriad of recent races where 59 plus year olds have better that 6hrs 35 mins. Greater yet, Ed Whitlock and others like him around his age each that time for breakfast! Your accomplishments are commendable, and I have given you kudos in...

Ah...Crossfit. It attracts certain types for sure, and most wear Vibram five fingers and steer at the mirror a lot  personally, I don't really care for it and I'm fitter than most that do crossfit considering my age.
