Re: White Rabbit Thursday

Had a nice 17k (11k at pace) run. Was going up a steep curvy sidewalk and a skateboarder came flying down in the opposite direction; panicked when he saw me and wiped out sliding head first. Asked if he was ok, sheepishly said yes, and went on his way. I could've easily ducked behind a tree so we w...

Re: Sunrise Sunday

The tatoo? Well, I have a couple of spiritual anniversaries coming up 8/8, and I wanted to paint their symbols on my body. And, I have a new friend who has alot of tatoos and offered to accompany me into one of these IMO shaky establishments to make sure I get quality work and not get screwed. So, ...

Re: Wednesday

I'm on week two of being being back on the board :) i did an 8km run tonight. We have been getting very frequrnt thunderstorms and since I'm an evening runner, I've been confined to my treadmill. And since my baby isn't cooperating in the evenings, I end up running from 11Pm - midnight!! Oh well, la...

Re: The runners wave?

I religiously do the wave. My results are typical of other men in their mid-30s: 1. Young women never acknowledge you exist. 2. Groups of women shriek and call the police. 3. Young men think you're challenging them to a fight. 4. Old men smile and wave back. I'm not sure if I'm still considered a y...

Re: Top 10 running fashion faux pas

I'm a supporter of shorts over tights. I have horrific memories of my high school principal walking through school in x-country ski tights with his junk showing. He was not a good looking old man. I would have paid him to wear shorts over top.

Re: The Oatmeal on Running

I find it eerie how his exaggerated body in part 4 looks a lot like my non-exaggerated body. And that was quite exaggerated - dude runs a 1:30 half, didn't think he'd be too hefty. A little googling reveals I am right. http://www.menshealth.com.sg/system/files/shared/Matthew_Inman_The_Oatmeal_Racin...

Thanks everybody! I'm glad to be off my lazy butt again. I missed this board - I'm glad some of you remember me! I remember the both of you too :) Oh - I relocated too. I'm now living in the recently underwater city of Calgary. Maybe I'll get to meet some fellow maniacs one day :) Well, then welcom...

I wasn't able to run through my pregnancies, but my running is very much improved since being pregnant. It could be all mental, but I am much faster now. ^THIS Well... I've been gone for ages... BUT I can happily say that pregnancy has NOT been detrimental to my ability to run either. In fact, givi...

Well, I'm back again

I am very happy to say that after... 3 years (?) Off from running, I am back at it again. The last two times I quit running it was because of multiple bouts with bronchitis, so I'm going to make a pact with myself right now that if I do get it, I won't let it stop me from running! Anyway, I went out...

Re: Wanna Go Fast? Get Bigger? Go Vegan

Riddle me this: if vegetarian cooking is so delicious, why is so much of it a lame attempt to recreate meat dishes? Veggie burgers, veggie dogs, tofu turkey, veggie chili. You don't see us serving "cauliflower" that's really chicken in disguise! Not everyone cooks like this. I don't use a...
