I will be signing up for the 10K. Worst case, I can walk it. :)

Re: From the heart

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm curious to know if there are things we can do to avoid this? I mean, if you did some medical tests, would they be able to identify the risk for you?

Re: Nutrition and depression

I read about Omega-3 being a good defense against depression. Maybe eat more sources of it?

Re: 2013 Army Run

Good luck to all those racing tomorrow. I wish I was there to cheer you on but it's not in the cards this year: I have a very bad cold.

Have fun! Race happy!

Re: Acetominaphin

When I hurt my tailbone (not sure if it was broken, the X-rays were crappy) a few years ago, the ER doctor gave me morphine and advised I take the maximum dose of Tylenol (4g) to manage the pain. I did for 2 days and then I started having crazy liver pain, so I switched to Ibuprofen and was alright....

Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

My friend is a lot more fit since she started taking those classes last fall. She is even contemplating taking up running! :)

It seems like a great way to meet other moms and the class is very flexible to accommodate different fitness levels and the occasional screaming baby.

Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

My friend is doing a outdoors fitness class for moms and babies. The babies are in the stroller and the moms do all sorts of cardio and strength training exercises while pushing the stroller. My friend had a pass for 10 sessions and was going to lose one, so she invited me to come along today for th...

I'm sorry to read this update. I can't believe how unlucky you've been, Rick. It must be very tough to go through this! Hang in there. We have your back.

My friend had condensation problems after she cracked her Garmin. Is it possible that you cracked yours or that the seal came undone?

Fibromyalgia? Skeptical Wolf is skeptical.

I'm sorry to read about your struggles. I hope you can see a specialist and get a clearer diagnosis soon. :(

In the meantime, maybe you could walk? It would be less demanding on your body while allowing you to remain active.

I also caught part of a discussion on CNN this morning that was talking about the media (mainstream, as well as social media) coverage of the events, especially what was going on Friday. What I don't understand is why they make Police scanners available on-line for anyone to listen to, then get ups...

OOOH It burns, the googles, they do nothing!

For the rest of the body, moisturize right after your shower after drying off. Moisturizer is your friend when you are in the pool a lot. just pat your skin dry so it's still a bit damp, then put on the cream to "seal it in". I personally can't do that (moisturizer right after I shower af...

Quebec City Marathon?

Others will chime in about whether Quebec City is a fast course (I don't think it is), but I can say that the weather can be all over the place. They've had years of heat waves, years where it was pouring rain... It really is unpredictable.
