Quite the negative split, however, if you had ran the first 5k in 56 minutes ... Ha !!! :shifty:

 Too funny Andy, I totally missed that.

Yeah, that would have been one hell of a negative split for sure.

Stampie's 2015 Edition of the First Half

This is the 4th year in a row that I have participated in this event. The First Half is near & dear to me. This race was my first half I ever ran back in 2012 (2:01:50) and it currently holds my PB at this distance in 2013 (1:54:16). Not to mention this is a well-organized event and is fun to pa...

I have been wearing glasses since I was 7 or so and I have astigmatism as well; though only in one eye. I've also just recently started to wear progressive lenses. I wear contacts for sports and I've been doing that for just over 10yrs now. Previously I shied away from contacts because I was told To...

Merry Christmas everyone! I haven't posted in the daily thread in ages; let alone been on RM much in the past month. (work will do that :? ) Anyways I went out for an easy jaunt in the hood this evening, after getting home from dinner with my family. A 5.4K run to help burn away to copious amounts o...

I was talking to Dylan Wykes on Sunday and he indicated that he will be racing at the First Half; assuming his recovery is on track.

When are you leaving? I know that Dylan Wykes trained in Switzerland just before the 2012 Olympics...I could ask him if he knows anything about Lugano...I don't know where he went to train. Course....he's buried in a diaper pail these days so might take a few days before I hear back from him  ...

Re: Nausea and Vomiting in the Marathon

I've vomited in a race and that was because of over exertion. I was only 4 or so km into a 10 km race. Could yours be because of an electrolyte imbalance and exertion? I have not vomited, but have come close. I did a 5K time trail last year and nearly tossed my cookies at the end of that run. That ...

Re: Rock n' Roll (Competitor Group Inc.) is getting sued

I’ve volunteered with the CRS in the past. I worked the booth for the inaugural Eastside 10K in Vancouver last year while at the Scotiabank Half expo. For a few hours of assistance, I was given a comp bib for the race. It also helps that I know one for the paid staff with CRS that assists with all t...

Well done, that was an outstanding result with a HUGE pb. Congrats!

Considering how well your training went and how well you finished at Melissa's, it was no surprise that your ROCK'd it in YVR!

I'm equally impressed at your consistent pacing and race management, outstanding!
