2012 Army Run

That looks about the same as last year's route for the half, right? Does anyone know if you can transfer a bib from the half to the 5k? A friend of mine can't do the half, but her daughter is doing the 5. She'd like to run it with her daughter but hasn't heard from the RD... she'd also sell her bib...

Fastest swimmers paddle with "fork" not "oar"

I was taught to do a fork this year. I can't say I'm speedier, but my stroke feels a bit easier and smoother.

What to do with zucchini?

Warning: bad joke ahead When asked this question, a coworker once answered: compost. Kind of  and kind of  as well. I usually make zucchini and chocolate chips loaves with my zucchini. They freeze really well and everyone loves them. I didn't know you could freeze grated zucchini. I will ...

Do you carry 'protection'?

I'm all for recognizing legit situations, and I think we should reserve such emotions for times when there's a real threat. Here's the thing--you aren't told ahead of time "this is a 'real' threat." That's like saying you should only put batteries in your smoke detectors when there's a &q...

What a difference a year makes - Ottawa Marathon

Good job Jesse! You looked so happy and strong on the course. I remember thinking that you were making it look so easy! Around 35k, you were the only Maniac who didn't look like they were suffering. You said it was tough, but it just didn't look like it when you said those things with a huge smile o...
