After considering doing close to the distance in a training run for my first marathon, I'm glad I didn't.

Short 8k recovery run is done. Off to do some chores. It won't be long before golfing is on the "must get done" list.

Me three. Did the seawall around Stanley Park and False Creek today under blue skies. You'd love it.

Re: 9am and no Saturday thread yet?

Plan for today is 26 k. Undecided where that will take place. I ended up taking it along the seawall around False Creek and Stanley Park for 26.6 km. I ran south-bound over the Burrard Bridge approaching it east-bound off Pacific Ave (marathon route). You are at a higher elevation at the foot of th...

Started the month off with 10k. Thinking back when I had one month left to go before my first Full, I'm feeling so much better physically this time around.

Re: April - Bring it! (Training Goals)

With a marathon May 1st, April will be slightly less than March at 275 km. I'll be running in a 10k 2 weeks before the marathon but undecided how hard I should run it.

Re: 2011 Vancouver Marathon - Hoopla

I happened to notice this price increase to $130.00. I do find that expensive. I can still run the Runwild Leading Edge Marathon in St. Albert for $85.00 or the Saskatchewan Marathon in Saskatoon for I think $85.00. There is an $80 Marathon in May in Abbotsford (40 miles from Vancouver) if you don'...

Thanks everyone! I fully intend to make that pace or better my half-marathon pace very soon. I say May, definitely June. :) ... despite my almost oversleeping it. I wasn't going to say anything but now that you mention it, that extra bit of sleep might have been the secret to your success .

We're only 3 months in 2011 and you're already having a great year! Breaking not one, but two 7 year old PB's in the 10 and 30K in your last 2 races. Here's hoping the trend continues in Vancouver.
