Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Hey Ottawa Mommies...are we going to do the Winterman Relay again this year? We do need to defend our title! When is it? I don't think I can come :( ETA: I might be a liar... I just noticed that it's the Family Day weekend and at my new job I get family day off! If you have it off then that...

Congratulations Jes. I am so proud of you for all of your training and dedication. You have done so much these past few years with running and everything else in life. I am not surprised at your amazing result. And those are the best race pics I've ever seen of you!

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Yeah I had heard about abdominal separation... I definitely have no bulge in the middle as it suggests I would in that article. The upper part of my abs are still a bit numb though. I'll wait another week or so and then think about it again (hmm that sounds a LOT like my pre-preg strength regime!! ...

Re: The Beer Run -- Ottawa -- October 20, 2013

Well, it was a blast! Some of the highlights included: 5 breweries, as much beer at you wanted at each, food at some of them, running with teams dressed as giant beer bottles (and other crazy costumes). I found the almost 15K distance a bit of a challenge mixed with the beer and on the heels of a h...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

So I'm feeling really good, and no I'm not going to run for another couple of weeks anyway. I promised myself I'd wait till AT LEAST 4 weeks before I made ANY sort of call on running, but I'll likely wait till 6 weeks. The risks totally outweigh the benefits IMO- I've heard too many scary stories a...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I have to organize myself NOW for the Boilermaker? Sheesh. I have such a hard time registering for races in advance. I DID manage to get into the Ottawa Beer run though :D I will make sure to update after that one. Running going awesome over here! And looking forward to the 9 Run Run half in a coupl...

Re: 1/2 Marathon Training Program

Really you just need to find a good buddy/group (around your speed) to do 2x hard workouts a week + 1 LR. The rest you don't really need a plan for - easy/recovery. This is essentially how I've always trained (2 hard workouts per week plus long run and other easy runs), although I do most of my spe...

Re: 1/2 Marathon Training Program

Thank you everyone for your replies! I took a look at several of the programs and I guess old habits die hard as I find the RR one the easiest to follow for me. The one from anothermotherrunner is funny and something I can relate to for sure. Purdy, do you have access to the RR programs online? I'd ...

1/2 Marathon Training Program

I can't believe I am writing a post about this given that I've run approximately 20 halfs over the years but I'm looking for a proper program. I've typically used the Running Room programs but don't seem to have any electronic copies anymore. I seem to like the format and the "look" of the...

Glad you've found a solution to the bra issue for the time being QuickChick! Hopefully whatever you have purchased now will carry you through until the end and then post delivery. It's soooo hard to tell what size you will be throughout all those changes.
