Re: 2013 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend

Has anybody picked up their race kit yet? Just wondering what the tech shirts are like this year for each distance... The men's marathon shirt I saw posted on FB (by run26.2) was navy with some orange in the logo and on the side. Looks really sharp. That sounds great. Last year's half shirt was awf...

Anyone know what time the World Exchange parking usually fills up? I'm debating whether to drive or to take the bus.

I noticed that too. I have to do some more trail running before signing up to figure out whether I can maintain that for 23 or 38km.

Thanks for the info Nick and Dave. I follow Natural Fitness Lab on Twitter but I'm not signed up for the emails yet. I'll have to do that.

Re: Run the Frugal Goofy!

I'm mapping out a route that will give me 21K to work (I only live 5K from work, so I have to add on quite a bit of distance). Since I don't like tacking on extra at the end of a run, I'll likely add it onto the beginning (i.e., running in the opposite direction for 8K, turning around, then running...

Re: Run the Frugal Goofy!

I know that I usually can't imagine running home after a run in, but I'm hoping that changes as I get into better shape. I park halfway and do 2 x 12 sometimes so I should be able to get the rest of the way there. La, I've definitely considered making it a Frugal Dopey too but we'll see. :) Sometim...

Re: Run the Frugal Goofy!

My first reaction is that your 42km day is quite different than a regular 42km - since it's a split run - which can sometimes be easier, sometimes harder! :) good luck! Run the Frugal Goofy!

A few people showed interest in my training journal so I thought this challenge might be of even wider interest. One of my plans for this year is to run what I'm calling the "Frugal Goofy". For me that means run to work one day (conveniently 21km) and run the round trip before and after wo...

I drove down Greenbank on the way home and, unfortunately, other than a short dry stretch on either end, and a small lake somewhere in the middle, it was still completely covered in snow. Fingers crossed for you Mary!

I haven't been updating here (and only occasionally on FB) but with weights this morning and a 7k run at lunch I officially hit 100 workouts. I'm very happy with that after falling quite a bit behind over the holidays.
