Re: Cool or Not Cool?
Just finished reading this and I have to say I lean towards the article writer's thoughts, and well of course FB friends of these people will back them up and fail to see the negative in what they did, true friends will call you out on your silliness. 1. Forming a daisy chain towards the finish line...

Oh dear Adidas...
a case of foot in mouth
Adidas has had to publicly apologize after sending an insensitively titled email to Monday’s Boston Marathon finishers.
The subject headline read ““Congrats, you survived the Boston Marathon!”
Many took to social media with their outrage over the poorly worded email.

Not a bad payday for 2hrs work  Kirui finished in 2 hours, 9 minutes, 37 seconds to claim a silver trophy, a guilded olive wreath from Marathon, Greece, and the $150,000 (U.S.) first prize. Rupp was 21 seconds back, and Japan’s Suguru Osako 30 seconds behind him. It's nice to see this pic belo...

Ah yes...I first learnt about this last October when I was in the 'Hammer' doing Paul's Marathon, and then some the folks advertising this at ATB. It claims to be a flat course and am still contemplating pulling the trigger. It's 2 weeks before Ottawa race weekend and am already doing one of the 2 n...

...are women asking for female only races, or is it an assumption / ploy on the part of the organizers? I get demand-supply aspect, how low self-esteem might drive some to only run in those races. I mean this is apparent when it comes to gyms e.g. good life fitness v gym that caters to plus size cli...

That's OK...it's not the first time that knee-jerk reaction response has happened on here since I joined, and it probably won't be the last. I'm glad to see that we concur on the silliness of the gender biased races. It's no surprise that women only gym don't last and end up closing down. Always sou...

Sad news...Gillis is out Very unfortunate news this morning regarding one of Canada’s top marathoners just days ahead of Monday’s Boston Marathon. Eric Gillis of Guelph, Ont. was the only Canadian male on the elite start list but has sadly had to withdraw due to an Achilles injury and will not be li...

Re: WOW...Utter BS
So 30mins discrepancy is justified and is helping improving the status quo, along with women only races???? Might as well make it a 1hr cushion then ...that way more females qualify and can be proud of a dumb down. Yet...many outrun men their age, younger and older. Lanni is a mother and still manag...

Thanks for stating the obvious! Like I said, with their rationale in the article, perhaps visible minorities should be charged less as Caucasians earn more. Along the same line as your rationale? Note: I am truly and sincerely for equality, and it irks me when the people crying wolf, pick and choose...

Re: WOW...Utter BS
I have been in races where the number of female registrants have been higher than the male. If someone really has self esteem issues and think by running with men is an issue, then perhaps they should work on their persona first before deciding to enter a race. I doubt anyone is checking anyone out ...

...there are countless jobs were wages are transparent, and men and women do indeed get paid the same, because there is a table that shows a scale, years of employment and where a person is at. As for the student discount thing, probably the same reason for giving adult discounts? I mean not all sen...

Hmmm...some interesting responses so far, but I don't see how women paying more for haircut plays into this....who are the people doing the cutting usually? Yes female barbers and hairdressers  I can fathom how anyone who believes in equality or is an advocate for it, can say this nonsense in ...

Taking things a bit too far....I mean do all men that run earn more wages than women that run? Organizers also need to get away from all this segregation of women's only races. Imagine is there was a men' only half or full  The Des Moines Women’s Half-Marathon, which is now sold out in its gen...

skinny doesn't means fast
If you think skinny means fast, one football player, Kardell Thomas, has a bone to pick with you. The offensive lineman at Baton Rouge Southern University Lab School hit the track recently to anchor the 4 x 100m relay. His run has since spread like wild fire around the Internet and both running nerd...
