Tri'ing Sunday

Postby ceileigh » Sun Aug 19, 2012 5:39 am

Off to cheer at the Cornwall Triathlon today. This is my fourth year with the Cornwall Tri and my third with "The Stalker" corny cheery station. This year I expanded again and now have 'corndoggy' as well as "The Stalker" Sadly Maniac Mabel met with her demise at the Run 4 Reach. She will make one final appearance at the Cornwall tri in Cornwall multisport clothing before full retirement. I cut her open and stuffed her torso and head with newspaper and used duct tape to closer her up    Guess I will have to go buy a new Mabel before next race!!!! After all Andy would miss is dancing partner

Have a great day everyone!

Heading off to go camping in Lake Placid for the week. There will be lots of trail running- hopefully will get in 10K or so later this afternoon.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Have fun at Cornwall Tri Jane and please post pics of the station sounds like fun. Wishing everyone racing today the best of luck and of course have an awesome time. Spectacular day for both Cornwall and Brockville tri's! Rest day for me after 4 days in a row of cycling and a couple short runs smattered in. Legs are pooped but will not prevent me from having some gf's over today to ride ponies followed by Mojitos on the verandah a perfect day!

On the Greyhound back to Ottawa ..30k run and gels then coke and beer afterwards resulted in an endorphin rush last night leaving me restless and sleepless in Toronto 'til about 1am before falling asleep ... Then my usual wake up internal clock goes off at 5am ....arghhh !! Most likely an RnR day today ..

Good Luck Mike!

A slow 32K done. To be expected on legs that have had NO rest in over a week. It was steady though! I loved my route, and conditions were awesome!

Now for some household chores that have been waiting for me.

Long run this morning, turned out to be slooooooow but all right. 14.5-ish done! I started out feeling craptastic, and after about 7K, I started to feel better. By the end I was feeling pretty good. I think I have the post-trip blahs. :)

Surprisingly good 10 k this morning after yesterdays 29 km. Based on how stiff my legs and calves were this morning I doubted I would finish the run, but thanks to cooler day and net downhill route I finished with no problems (I will probably completely sieze up later  )

I had a good run today. 8K, which is the longest since the injury, and 32K for the week. 8) Now to finish packing.... I hate packing but I'll be happy when the car is full tomorrow. :)

18 miles (29km) done! That is my longest run in over a year. For those familiar with the area, I ran up to the Seymour dam and hatchery on the west side of the river, back on the east side. Mostly gravel and dirt, but there are a few km where you are forced on to old lillooet (now just a service road). Also explored a few side trails (mainly to see if I could bypass the paved section... No luck!).

I did my long run on Thursday, so just a couple of short runs this weekend since we were headed to the cottage.

On Saturday, I did a mini-tempo with the stroller - 6 km with 4 at tempo effort. This morning was 5 km on cottage roads while C napped. I always end up running after breakfast at the cottage - and it is always a terrible idea! When will I learn?

Golf day today and then watched BC lay a beating to Saskatchewan to extend their losing streak to 4 games. A good day all around.
