OK, so it's Saturday

Postby Nicholas » Sat Nov 19, 2016 12:32 pm

Fun trail run with our running group this morning. We ran a new trail that is pretty gnarly...lots of rocks & roots, small tight climbs & descents plus muddy & watery areas. I don't have the leg strength yet to fight through that for long. So, first 3K was good and then I had to be really careful for the last 3+K. At one point, as I was placing my foot between two rocks, I had a flashback to my Summer adventure on the top of Gros Morne. Thankfully, no helicopters or hospitals needed this time. Coffee and a huge slice of raspberry pie afterwards was perfect.

Stupid Score season debut: -13 with the wind chill (which felt much colder being just a week and a half after hitting +20 degrees) for 25K and SS=325. Anyone not in BC is welcome to play along this winter.

It was only -5 this morning and I did 11k. That doesn't really register on Ian's scale.

It is sunny but only 10 degrees so I hunkered down and ran 13k on the treadmill. A stupid score of it's own kind here in BC. ;)

I got out solo this morning for 15k since winter is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Beautiful foggy fall day.

Definitely silly not to run outside on the one day this month you get to run and stay dry.

I enjoyed the unexpected nice weather for a 12k run with the gang.

Really Rob. It was less than 10C here! I went for a lovely run. Ended with my sleeves rolled up.

Just a note that Vancouver != BC. I've weathered worse winters in BC than most of you have ever experienced. ;)

ETA: how does -54C sound?

OK I was being totally facetious and playing off of Ian's comment because he excluded BC. So I made up my own stupid score for BC.

Truth is, I have my treadmill rigged up so I can watch work-related training videos on my laptop so I can multitask. I'm not afraid to run outside below 10 degrees. I run in shorts a few degrees below zero but who cares. :)
