Still building up slowly. Will probably run about 125K or so. Nothing crazy.

I have no mileage goals at all. My goal is to try to work in some tempo and hills for ATB. Some of the hills will be done with my clinic members

Also a goal of a couple of long runs at the run/walk pace I need for my pace bunny duties at ORW.

Well, if I follow my training plan to the letter I'll have 140km in February. Allowing a certain amount of leeway, I'll say I'm aiming for at least 125km, and more hills on my routes - got a couple of hilly races coming up in April!
PR's so far: 5K 27:15, 10K 55:25, 21.1K 2:10:53, 42.2K 5:21:27
Upcoming: Toronto Women's 5k in May, STWM Half in October

Race half marathon on the 10th happy and healthy!

Will be some recovery after that and then start back to training with Vancouver BMO half as the goal race for May.
Mileage will be lower for February than Jan. Guessing about 125-130K.

schedule says 287 for Feb...slightly lower than Jan which was only supposed to be 270 but I rounded up some runs when I was feeling good. Really with 2 trips scheduled if I hit 250 I'll be happy.

I just want to stay consistent and get at least 4 runs per week in with one of those being a longer run. I think February is just a "hang in there" month for me because I really don't like the TM all that much and it's tough for me to get outside in the current weather. Once this month is over I'll pick it up and start focusing on my half marathon goal for the Ottawa RW.

I hear ya, and am fighting taking that approach myself. I just want to do a few 5k as any longer outside and I'm cold/miserable (yes yes I'm a winter wimp, 12yrs in Ottawa and I still find it horribly cold here)...today is a double on the TM as I can't block off enough time during the day for 16k, and I'm unwilling to run outside in this cold. So 2X8 it is...one complete now to find another few min to complete the other 8.

Well, with only one more scheduled run between now and the end of the month, it's highly unlikely that I'll run 125K this month. I'm currently at 97.7K, so will likely end the month with 105K. February IS the shortest month, but not sure why my mileage didn't add up. Must have missed a couple of runs. :?

Month is done and I ended up with two solid races and 140K total mileage. Happy with that and looking forward to March.

Glad to say good-bye to February b/c it means that spring is within our reach :). Great month for me too. Firsly, I turned 42 which is pretty significant for someone who loves the marathon - lol (I hadn't run one yet when I turned 26)!

Secondly, I had a super month running-wise. I finished Feb with 250 (400 km) miles logged - mostly EP w/ some tempo and MP. But more important than the # of miles run is the fact that I truly enjoyed and appreciated them all, even the many ticked off on the tm. I don't know why I'm in such a good groove (I have some ideas) but I'm happy to ride the wave.

March should be similar volume-wise but I'll be cranking up the intensity - I'm looking forward to the extra push. My legs and head are ready :).
We train more joyfully and productively when we focus on the now, rather than on our future race day performance. It's a long road from here to there with many miles to go. We need to run each one. Accept where you are today and simply be thankful for the work you've accomplished. KA

I was going to complaine that maybe being 54 is not that good, but I far outdistanced February 2012, and so far this year I am way ahead.

Yay! That's great to hear.

On my drive to work I was thinking of the same metaphor (well, at least the second part of your mixed metaphor :P). For the past few months I felt like I was being tossed in rough seas, but in February I was finally "riding the wave." It has been a great month for me; I have been able to consistently run about 30K/week for a total of about 126K. Plus some decent swimming (2-3 times per week) and a couple circuit classes. I feel like my injury is finally behind me (mostly-- a few nagging reminders but nothing major, as long as I'm smart). And my longest run was 13K! Still a far cry from where I was, but I have made huge progress this month and will continue from here.

Coach changed the schedule partially through the month, seeing me cut back a little on the running and introducing some strength training sessions.

Finished the month with 374 km -- feeling strong and healthy, AND happy! :D

290k. I'm happy with the way I have been able to maintain my atb training while leading the half marathon clinic at the running room. Paces are off, but I'm thoroughly enjoying the whole experience. :D

Feb - 366kms

I haven't posted in the daily for a while bc for the last two weeks I was really busy at work - running suffered, and my quads were dead. Seems like this week they are alive again. Funny thing eh? This week is 96km and 2 days left. Would have been where last week was if I didn't stop at Wed (couldnt get a chance to run thurs, fri or sat). But this weeks been solid so things are back on track.

YTD 802kms

The biggest change I've seen is that my LT has been going up. I'm starting to be able to run at a pace where my pulse used to be (im just guessing) to run hard - ie mid-170s. But instead of 4:30s, I'm running 3:40s. And I can recover quickly - two very strong hard sessions this week.

Oops. I didn't have goals, but I didn't really mean to do LESS than January. I'm about 20km lower, with 119km. But it makes sense, since I took an extra rest day after a fall in ultimate, and didn't run last weekend, as I was backpacking and camping (and shoveling a snow kitchen). I did play more ultimate, though.

Ended up with 280 km. Did a half at the beginning of the month and got a PB by 17/100th of a second. The other race was timed to only a 10th of a second so this is just a ball park figure.
