YAY
Did .76 of a mile this morning in 15 minutes - first time out in over four months!!!!

No pain in the heel - well, as of 9:05am.
Will go back out tomorrow and try 1 mile for a slight increase in distance.

Have a good day everyone!

Yay, Karen!

So the cortisone shot is working, I guess? That's great! Do you go for another one at some point? What else are you doing?

p.s. I'm happy to say that I'm run/walking again too... today was my first vitrually pain-free run/walk. I'm still taping and stretching like crazy, and am probably done with physio for now after tomorrow. No cortisone for me-- doc is still very against it, so I'm glad the pain is going away now. For me the combination of physio/laser/ultrasound/acupuncture/stretching/rest/vitamin therapy seemed to work.

PF really sucks... but hopefully we're both past the worst of it.

YAY!!! Today walked 2.4km without pain at all!

Glad to see things are getting better in the West!!
too.

I was up at 6 and out at 7:25 - and back at the door doing my stretches at 7:45 - considering I did not walk reallllly fast, but fast enough, for
second time out - not too bad!

Guess like you say the cortisone is helping. I go back in 6-8 months if I have a problem.

Take care - happy running/walking to all! I am so glad to be back walking did not realize how much I missed it!

Awesome Katy!

I too had an appointment scheduled if my foot started to act up again. When the appointment came close, I was feeling better so I just called to cancel and reschedule for later. Cuz sometimes it is hard to get an appointment. So I would have a back up plan if I needed to later on.

So glad you can walk without pain!
Once in a while i still have a tiny something to my foot. So I stretch and take a break if I need to. But the real pain never came back. It is good to pay good attention to how your feet feel and take it easy if anything flares up.

You are definitely on the road to full recovery looks like!

Ya-ba-da-doo!!!! yeah, for us :D

I am looking forward to tomorrow's walk - if the rain holds off.
I plan to do a 4.2km around our neighbourhood. Lots of new homes
have been built in the past 4 months and I want to see them :)

Have a good evening all.

Hey, Karen-
How's it going this week?

Welllll, kinda' tender as I did a fair bit of walking in the shopping
centre . Y'day I went for new shoes, didn't buy but bought the Superfeet insoles for my Saucony's Progrids - what a
difference in the arch/heel area!
It was our grand-daughter's suggestion when I couldn't get shoes that
I was really comfortable in. Both she and Lynne use them in soccer
so the salesman fitted them and for $45 will head out later to give them a try. The instructions and the salesman told me to break them in a few hours a day for a week before using them all the time so will try them.

Thanks for thinking of me and keepin healthy!

Katy
Great to read that you are back out there. Enjoy those walks. With all the new houses to check out, you'll feel like you 've found a new route.
Take care of yourself, and don't over do it. Keep us posted on your progress.

Glad to hear it, Karen!

p.s. I posted an article in the injury section about PF. Interesting, because it describes a lot of what I've been going through really well.
