no, I think the other one needs a new battery (I know that you are getting Turds), but, I wanted to answer your question!

save it and next time we see each other, we should see if the batteries in the one i have that doesn't work fit in the one you have with the dead batteries.

I wonder what would happen if you attached that to a three legged dog.

OMG Garth...that is hilarious!!! They're not that expensive...I'm very tempted :D :D

I have one that doesn't work as well ;) (it keeps re-setting) - but, I think they are different batteries. :(

On another note - I only have 3000 steps for the day!

THAT's an eye opener!

Now that I've walked Raven I have 7282, so I was able to add almost 5000 steps in a 4K walk.

Now its time for Biggest Loser and an evening on the couch with tea...I doubt I'll make 10,000 steps today.

I don't know if I'll get that many steps for 4K in the spring/summer/fall...I had to do some fancy stepping in the slushy canals that the town of Petawawa likes to try to pass off as sidewalks. My feet still got cold and wet. I need some galoshes.

I hovered around 3000 yesterday. I can't remember what the actual number was, but it was between 3000 and 3300.

Today I've done a lot of puttering around the house so I'm already nearing 1000, and I've still got more puttering to do...

Monday: 5003
Tuesday: 7282
Wed: 3200
Thurs: 3100

And...I forgot to put my pedometer on this morning, going up to get it now. The only day I took Raven for a walk was Tuesday. I gotta try to do that more, both for her sake and mine.

Moonday: 6578
Tuesday: 6672
Wednesday: 7825
Thursday: 6921

I'm surprised actually at how much I do walk during the day. None of the above days include dog walks. I've had Shannon walk C-Moss a couple days this week. And the rest of the time poor C-Moss has been in the backyard. She may go on strike soon.

crap. I dropped my pedometer when I went to the washroom (it popped off my belt) - and, I think it's broken.

I'm going to grab the one from Andy that didn't work, and see if I can put this battery into it....

otherwise, I'll get a new one!

I think I'm going to say that my average is 6200 - and go from there.

I'll be back tomorrow to lay out the shallonge! :)

If you have to get a new one, I highly recommend the one pictured here in pink: http://www.shoppershomehealthcare.ca/en ... 1/1/1.html

I have that one (in ORANGE :) ) and it is a great pedometer! It has a clock, light, stopwatch, counts steps and miles and cals and it has an alarm. I *heart* mine. It is accurate and the clip stays on nicely, and you can't reset it by mistake. You have to press and hold the "SET" button.

so, I was just out doing a whirlwind errand tour - and I bought a cheap-o from Zellers for $6 - I'm too impatient to wait for Monday to try to get a new battery (or use the battery from the broken one)....

I walked 3000 steps during my whirlwind errand tour! :)

I think I paid $15 or maybe even more for mine. But I'm super picky about pedometers, as I've had my fair share of cheap ones over the years and have found that, like most things, you get what you pay for. This one fit all my personal criteria in a pedometer, mainly the non-accidental reset, so I didn't really mind paying more for it. I'd been looking for a long time when I finally found this one.

Scotty has had Hockey Day in Canada on intermittently all day today. Now that we are finished watching Whip It (really, really good movie, btw), the Calgary game is on....

*swoon* If I were to meet Jerome Iginla while I'm in Calgary in April, I'd be a happy, happy lady. *sigh*

I wouldn't know him from Adam, but CinC tells me that we ran past him once in Calgary (he was running too!).

Alrighty, I'm going to post a new thread to get this going - it starts tomorrow.

This is what I've come up with - you have until tomorrow morning before I post (which will probably be mid-morning) to disagree/discuss this plan:

February Walking Shallonge

2 ways to play:

% increase: take your average from the "test" week, and try to add a certain % to it.

Add 30% = GOLD
Add 20% = SILVER
Add 10% = BRONZE

# steps: take your average for the week, and try to get it to these levels:

10 000 = GOLD
8 000 = SILVER
6 000 = BRONZE

Personally, I think I'll be doing the % increase challenge. I think my average will be around 6500 - 7000 to start, which puts me at 8400-9100 to reach GOLD.

I also need to count at least 5 days/week. This will account for days that I screw up with the pedometer (i.e. forget to put it on, or, drop and break it). This doesn't mean I count my best 5 days, but, I need 5 days minimum to get an average.

GET WALKING!
i run for me.

Yes, that did belong in the NET.

I'll be going with the % increase as well.

I agree to your terms IG.

what's your test week average?

Oh yeah...

Well from my post earlier this week:

Monday: 5003
Tuesday: 7282
Wed: 3200
Thurs: 3100

and I forgot to wear my pedometer yesterday, but today I have 3353 so far...so say its 3500 by bed time...

That makes my average (based on 5 days): 4417 (so 4500 avg?)

That makes a goal of: 6000 for GOLD

If I manage to make 6000 consistently each day for a week, then I will increase my challenge by another 30%.
