Good call.

Really any of the jam bands work well for that. GD, DMB, Phish, Widespread Panic, String Cheese Incident.

Wow- you couldn't have nailed the content of my ipod any better if you tried- those 5 bands figure very prominently in my rotation- especially String Cheese lately.
I'll check out the youtube clips you posted when I get home (can't get on youtube at work).
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Turd- some great videos there- I have that DMB concert on DVD- absolutely great. Going to see them again in TO in June. I had tickets to go see Phish in Hampton last year but the guy I was supposed to go with forgot that it was his anniversary that weekend, and none of my other friends (or wife) would drive 14 hours to see a hippy band with me.
Here's a couple of great tunes for you.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmLK8r5A34w - String Cheese covering Stir it Up into Know you rider- the jam between the 2 songs is sublime.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSbqZszI2Ic Panic doing Tall Boy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fhos5FZOR2c - Panjea is a band that Michael Kang (from String Cheese) is playing with now-great Afro groove to this music.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

That is a decent mashup. I have a few of those on my player, for that last burst on the TM or race to the final line

I just got Not Afraid by Eminem and I totally love it!! It's great for driving... lol... probably great for running too. Also the other day Collapse(Post Amerika) came on my ipod and it led to a very fast kilometre! It's now on my permanent running list. :)

Thought I'd set my ipod on shuffle today, but it was going through the artists in alphabetical order instead. Hearing Aretha Franklin was a great boost. It was a good thing I was on country roads rather than sidewalks since I was belting out Respect and Think for all I was worth.
Then I got into 2 hours of Black Crowes- good stuff.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Black Keys- Howlin' For You
I have this song on my running list and I LOVE it, esp at the finish of a good hard run. It makes me feel all pumped up. The video is awesome... I hadn't seen it till today but now I will channel this woman during Sporting Life... hahahaha!!

Also, the new Beastie Boys song Make Some Noise is pretty catchy and it has a good beat. I love songs that have that perfect running beat!
