Interesting. I have some sleeves but haven't used them in ages. I have always been suspect of their benefit and have had significant discomfort between the end of the sleeve and the sock.

I cut the bottom hem off my compression sleeves. It fixed the tightness in the ankle location. And, yes you can still wash the socks and they don't unravel.
And when I buy compression socks, I buy the cheap diabetic ones in the pharmacy. But for any compression, to get a sock which is not too tight around the calf, it is always too big in the foot. And no toes either.

Also, when I was in the middle of menopause, I suddenly had ankle swelling problems and had to cut slits in most of my socks. It was a terrible time.

CEP says on their FAQ that the calf sleeves should be used during activity, and not during recovery. http://www.cepcompression.com/faq

QUESTION: What is the difference between CEP Compression Socks and Calf Sleeves and when should I wear each?

ANSWER: We do not recommend that you recover in calf sleeves (keep on for extended amount of time after run) – while wearing the calf sleeves during periods of inactivity, the blood can begin to pool in your feet. This is especially true on a long flight – never wear sleeves on an airplane!

CEP Run Socks are great for performance and recovery – you can wear them during a run and keep them on for hours afterwards. Wearing CEP Socks before, during and after a run will continuously help with blood flow and venous return. You can even wear them to simply help your legs feel fresh all day! Get the Run Socks for performance and the Recovery Pro products for maximum compression and recovery.
