been a while... need a new log site

been a while... need a new log site

Postby Beerslinger » Wed Oct 21, 2009 3:16 pm

It's been a while since I ran consistantly, but looking to get back into it after two runs this week with no pain.

I used to use the running log at coolrunning.com, but they've merged with some other website and totally redid the log page, and I'm not happy with the new layout so I'm looking for something new.

Anybody have any suggestions?

I've been using the log at itsmyrun.com since May.
I like it...easy to use (and trust me...I'm low tech...read my sig line) and I like the fact that I can write notes after each run. Helpful to me...and also helpful to the person who is coaching me now. (ummm...that's Robbie-T who created itsmyrun so I have to log there  )

Glad to see you're back running. :D

I use SportTracks from Zone5 Software: http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/. I like it, and it stores everything on my machine instead of in the cloud. Which is both good and bad. ;-)

Another vote for Its My Run. Most of the people that use it are RMers and it is run by Robbie-T. :D

I tried itsmyrun and couldn't get into it (sorry Robbie!). Have been using sporttracks for years and it works fine for my purposes. I have to admit that I also keep two simple spreadsheets (one on my laptop and one on my blackberry... overkill, yes, but I like to record things while I'm thinking about them!).

http://www.buckeyeoutdoors.com

Super easy to use, tons of functionality - I was using trainingpeaks but hated how they changed it with trying to make it fancy with javascript and big graphics - made it impossible and irritating to use.

You can track any kind of workout + details, nutrition, upload data from sporttracks - and my favorite design your own plan (or copy one from my favorite training book) or pick one of the public plans and apply it to your calendar, then you can see what you have coming up, get workout of the day emails and compare planned vs actual.

Ive tried out most of the different log sites and buckeye is the best ive found.
Planned:
ATB - 2010
Ottawa Marathon 2010

PB's:
Marathon (3) - 4:16
30k (2) - 2:43
1/2 Mary (2) - 1:49
10k (1) - 50:50
8k (2) - 40:58

I have to agree with Tracy on this..I have been using the SportTracks/Buckeye Outdoors combo for a couple of months and find it to be a great program/site.The Garmin (if you use if) Implementation is really easy to use and if you like data like i do Sporttracks does a fantastic job!! You can't beat the price either...free!!

Tried the suggestions out and found that I liked itsmyrun the most. It's simple, non-complicated, and I'm able to enter a log in seconds before I head out the door.

A question about Its My Run - can you log in miles instead of kilometers?
