Day 12:

I am determined to finish this darn C25K.

5 min brisk walk warm up and then did 4 sets of 5mins of running with 3 min walk breaks in between and then 5 min walk cool down.

Departure from the program. I ran 2km before work. I could have run 3 or 4 but did not get my arse out of bed quick enough.

I need to figure out how I am going to run 7.4km this weekend for the Sears Run. I signed up for 4km but now got assigned to the 7.4km leg!

I am also going to sign up for Scotia 5K

Good job on the 2k this morning! As for the weekend, slow and steady and you'll cover the distance. :)

Is there a time limit for covering the 7.4K? If not, then just do the best you can: run when you can, walk when you can.

I spoke to the team leader and told her to change me to the leg I signed up for. I cannot mentally deal with the pressure of getting my team 'swept' off the course. This is the reason I have never signed up for really despite really wanting to do cabot trail! I can run 8km but not at the time they want me to.

Scotia is Oct. 16...and I left it late so it costs 45!

4km tonight. I guess I am off the program for now as I get ready for Sat.

Do I go back on after it or make up something new since I will be at running 4km already?

Nervous for Sat as team/relay events scare me and I feel pressured.

What are you doing in the Scenic route!

I ran 4.35km in 34mins tonight so all will be well. Just don't be expecting a finishing kick.

Who set that 8min/km min speed? Your team captain or the race organizers?

The race organizers did. I ended up (according to my team leader who timed me) coming in at the time I needed to. There were quite a few rolling hills with one icky one that went up and you thought you were done, then it turned and it went up again. I can't complain too much as Sheldon and Janice on my team had yuckier hills and they were running 20+km each.

4Km done yesterday.

My love of running is coming back even stronger.

Now where do I go from here? Back to c25K?

way to go! if you can run 4km, you certainly don't need to go back to the start of c25k. you could start part way through, or do a longer building program?

You just inspired me to go for a run, L. I really didn't want to go, but I thought of your achievement from yesterday and all the joy you seemed to feel when you talked about it - I sucked it up and I went. It was tough, but I got 'er done. Thanks for the inspiration, friend! :D
