Tuesday...

Postby jgore » Tue Apr 16, 2013 6:48 am

After yesterday's events, I'm not going to try to come up with a descriptor to add to the thread's title.

12ºC for the run this morning. I felt over-dressed wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt and was sweating profusely. It felt wonderful to be back in the huarches (running sandals) again.

Here's hoping today is better than yesterday, for everyone.

Pushed my workout hard this morning, thinking about what happened yesterday the whole time.

15K done, with 5 x 2000m at km paces of 4:02, 4:00, 3:58, 3:58, 3:55.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

This morning was 45 minutes on the elliptical and some strength and stretching.

I've got yoga at lunch, and will be running home from work in my yellow race shirt. I'm not wearing a race shirt today, but do have on my finishers necklace from NWM.

I'll be going for a run at lunch today. Same as Kara: because I can.

I hope the run helps me release some of the sadness I've been feeling since yesterday.

I needed the quiet of my run this morning - 8 km wasn't enough to make sense of the terrible events of yesterday - I don't know what could be. Wearing my black Montreal 21K race shirt under my sweater at work today.

Little over 10k in between the bouts of heavy rain. Light rain, nothing major. Nice to be able to wear shorts, but still needed a light coat.

A little over 6K on the TM for me. I was supposed to have a tempo day, but no way that was in the cards with this cold I'm fighting.

10k around the lake today. Way faster than I had intended, but I was thinking of yesterday and the pace kept getting faster.
I'm trying to figure out how to wear a race shirt under my dress clothes tonight when I go to work. :? I wore my black Vancouver race shirt and my RM hoodie all morning.

11km done at lunch. Like others have said, I pushed myself harder than usual thinking of yesterday.

The schedule called for 5K today so I dug out a blue race shirt and figured dealing with the wind gusts was a small price to pay for the privilege of being able to go for a run.

Been sick for two days. I managed 45 mins on the rowing machine yesterday. Just came back from a very slow 6.6K run and coughed up half a lung. Now to go to the dungeon for some more punishment. Was thinking of yesterday's events on my run....didn't make me run any faster but did make me appreciate that I could run.

And 30 mins on the rowing machine.

Did a second run this evening. Unfortunately, couldn't get downtown for the "Run For Boston", but ran with a friend from her place. Got a smile and "Nice huaraches" from a young lady on a bike. :D

I'm getting ready for a short run, although I think I might regret it so quick after supper.
