It was 17 degrees out at 6:30 am - for October, that felt pretty special!

Wasn't going to run, but with such mild temps, how could we resist? 4 km stroller run.

Happy birthday Habs! I hope your back feels better soon!

5K on the schedule for me. Hope to be able to get out and run as soon as I get home :D

Happy Birthday Habs!

Easy 10K this morning- couldn't believe how warm it was! Started out in shorts and long sleeve shirt (it is October after all), then pushed up the sleeves after a bit, then took the shirt right off.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

About 58 min, 8 k (moving speed was a bit quicker but we lost time with navigating). On our last day we finally found the fastest way to town - in Lagos.

Happy birthday Habs!

Rest day for me (except for belly dance class tonight) because our female cat had an 8:00 a.m. vet appointment. I felt so bad - we had to leave her there because her bladder was empty and so they can't get a urine sample until it fills up again. :( She'll get a few extra treats and lots of attention tonight to make up for it.

Happy B-day, Habs. I remembered it was your b-day on my run this morning. I can't believe a year has passed since you were here & we celebrated your b-day over lunch! Where does the time go? Hope your back heals soon...

Ran a slow & gentle 8 miles in the dark this morning - very mild here too. It was a peaceful way to start a new month :). I used to only run in the pre-dawn hours, when my kids were little - sometimes I miss it. Though it's tough to get myself out the door, I really enjoy that time of day!
We train more joyfully and productively when we focus on the now, rather than on our future race day performance. It's a long road from here to there with many miles to go. We need to run each one. Accept where you are today and simply be thankful for the work you've accomplished. KA

Happy Birthday Habs!

Been experiencing pain in my IT Band (pretty sure this is what it is) when running so today I mixed it up a bit. 15 mins of running followed by 20 mins on the bike and 10 mins stairclimbing followed by a lot of stretching and core. Hoping I can nip this in the butt (literally).
Jocelyn

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

First speed work post marathon recovery. The last one was in August when temps were in the mid-20s. Today it was 10C with wind and rain so it felt good to do it in cooler temps. Did 2 x 5 km (800m recovery). I had a tailwind on the way out so went out a little fast but held on to the pace I was supposed to run on the way back against the headwind. 16K total.
