CinC at IM Texas today (Saturday)

Postby La » Sat May 14, 2016 8:31 am

Carla's bib: 1573
Dave MrCinC's bib: 751

Live results are here: http://www.ironman.com/triathlon/covera ... z48dMSrsqy
Video is here: http://www.ironman.com/triathlon/covera ... z48dMSrsqy

The course has been shortened due to flooding a few weeks ago, so the bike is 150K (95 miles) instead of 180K. This is a redemption race for Carla as she had a DNF (and crash) here two years ago.

Dave is out of the water in 1:22:50, T1 6:27
Carla is out of the water in 1:32:50, T1 7:01

She's off the bike!!

She has a weird first run split, though. :? Must be something wrong with their tracking,

Just saw this on FB:

Important update regarding #IMTX: Due to the severe weather in the Houston area, we have activated our pre-determined safety plan. Athletes have been and are continuing to be stopped at timing mats and directed to the nearest safe shelters (including the library, parking garages, etc.). As athletes cross the timing mats, their race time will be stopped until we are able to restart the race. The original finish-line cut-off time of 11 p.m. will be extended accordingly. We will continue to provide updates as we have them.

Thank you.

According to the tracker Dave was about 17 or 19 miles done with the run when he was pulled off.
Eta: now I'm not sure- the tracking info seems messed up- they might be back on the course.

Up to 3" of rain has already fallen and another 1-3" expected.

In some parts, maybe not so much around The Woodlands.

Looks like they are both back out on the course now.. Updates coming in. Carla at 19.4 miles on the run at 11:26 total time, Dave at 11:29 with one mile to go!! I don't think those times have the delay subtracted yet- but we will see later. :)

Go Carla and Dave!!

Eta: Dave is done- showing 11:40 clock time. :)

The women's winner was in 8:11. That just amazes me.

Good yes, but I think that is on the shortened bike course.

I just saw some video of the race. Holy crap! Reminds me of IMLP in '08 (though they didn't have to stop the race that day).
