Two hours worth of water rushing through her apartment until they could get it shut off. She has to move all her stuff out and find somewhere her and Sammy to live for the foreseeable future. Thankfully, her mum lives nearby.

Yup that was me. 10 houses got hit and mine was the first and the worst. My entire suite is gutted and I have to move (well technically I could go back but it will be months before it's fixed).

I can't stay at my mom's because they can't have dogs in the building. Currently sleeping on a friend's couch until I find a solution. It's been very stressful but I have lots of helpers and support. :)

thanks for checking in. i found the news story online - you seemed very composed given the circumstances! i think i would've been in the fetal position. i'm so sorry that happened. :(

one of the reporters shared a video on twitter of a flooded apartment. was that yours? i ask because there was a tail in it that looked like sammy's.

Yeah I sent them a video and photos to get them to leave me alone. Vultures were there from 3am and alllllll day long, just standing around watching and harassing us. It was very frustrating. I didn't know they were putting me on the air and did not give them permission to do so. When they filmed me I hardly knew what was happening and I sure didn't know how much worse things were going to get... I didn't lose my composure until today when I found out the place I thought I could stay for a month fell through. Puppy and I are officially homeless. Not sure where we will sleep tomorrow, maybe a hotel. Trying to get ahold of another friend who offered us to stay there but haven't been able to reach her today. :/ but I may have found a new apartment, going to see on Sunday. So I just have to keep couch surfing until end of the month, if the new place works out. If not, still looking.

It is but my friends and family are taking good care of me, and that makes ALL the difference. I can't imagine doing this without the support I've received. this is turning into possibly the hardest year of my life. Has to get better next year, right??? I must be due for something good.... :P

Gosh this is awful, Holly. I'm thinking of you, and wishing you a speedy solution to your search for housing.

Echoing everyone else's thoughts, Holly. Great to see the folks rallying around you. Hopefully, this tough period will end real soon and you can kick on!!! Yes, you do deserve something good...and lots of it.
