Saw a portion of this on the news yesterday - thought it was a good message with what was broadcast - worthwhile viewing the entire piece!

Re: 2014 Calgary Marathon Turns 50

Well - one more sleep - good runs to everyone running in Calgary tomorrow - run your race, follow your plan (making adjustments as & if necessary), have fun - and of course I'll be following my own advice!

Re: Happy New Year!

8k Resolution Run on trail in Crescent Park. A very crisp morning, at least we had the sun shining through the trees - drove through several banks of fog on my way over to the park. Been a couple of years since I`ve done this event - a good start to the new year (`specially since I put my money down...

Re: Saturday Shuffle Racing

First trail run in awhile this morning out to Crystal Falls. With recent rains, lots of puddles and a stream running down the middle of the trail for several metres at one point - didn't take us very long to just run through the puddles - at least it's mild out & the water wasn't too cold - my s...

a damp, mild Grouse Grind this morning in my hiking boots - knocked 4 min off time when wearing boots previously. Lots of people on the trail at 9 am even in the clouds & drizzle.

Derby Reach Park, Aldergrove Lake Park and Campbell Valley Regional Park all have trails. Check out the Trail race series that Peninsula Runners hosts in January and February for descriptions (three of the four races are at these locations).

Congrats Jen on your AG placing - couldn't have ordered better weather & thank you for clearing up whether this was my 5th or 6th time down (was the topic of much debate this weekend)! Saw you heading back after the 15k turnaround - looking comfortable & tuned in to what you were doing - way...

Well I'm nothing if not consistent . . . 2:14 chip time . . . you know that little voice you really should listen too? The lady at the bag check said "are you sure you don't want to check your jacket?" - nope not me . . . it might rain! And then I'm in the loo when the race starts . . . lo...

Yep, this one caught my eye too - was thinking of the Edge to Edge a couple of weeks later & much more of a challenge logistically.

Yep, I did post on RR - was a member of Run.M.A.O. - good group that I knew through running out of the PoCo RR - the day passed so quickly, driving & cheering and driving & cheering! Weather cooperated too.

Re: Haney to Harrison Relay- A nice sendoff

Yep, the pictures confirm I did see you at the end of your leg as I was waiting for our runner to complete. This was my 1st year on a team (and as it happens my last); it's an event I've wanted to participate in for a long time and you couldn't wipe the smile off my face when I started out on Leg 7 ...

I saw your name in the results when I was looking to see how a co-worker had done - I knew your report would have just a tad more detail so was looking for it - nice race on a challenging course (this one is on my list of "to dos") and in wet weather! Hard to believe that it is just a mont...

Re: Gutbuster Trail run series (hey spaff! look here!)

I did Westwood I'm thinking 3 years ago this summer - was July & the river crossing didn't have alot of water in it - scenic run, challenging & reasonably technical, over several rock bluffs & across a large patch of clear cut - fairly open spots so need a hat if it's sunny - I would do ...

Re: Need Trail Shoe Advice

Just ran (ok 10 days ago) the dirty duo 25k in my adidas supernova (bought spring 2009 after I won a $150 Adidas gift certificate) - I trained through this winter with these & I think they're pretty much done now - found them comfortable & lighter than the Montrail Hardrocks I wore previousl...

Hallow's Eve 1/2 marathon & 10k

This event takes place mostly in the Lynn Canyon area of North Vancouver. Day dawned overcast with the forecast calling for rain by midday (I was hoping to be finished by then). Participants are encouraged to dress in costume & there were quite a few. After the pre-race talk "look for the o...

Spring a year ago, after much looking we found one at the Tillamook Creamery in Oregon which my husband (aka chief cheerleader) used to encourage me to a marathon PB in Newport. Then November of last year, Saturn (one of the sponsors at the Seattle Marathon) was giving them out at the expo. Forgot t...

You may want to take a look at a trail series on the south side of the Fraser that Peninsula Runners organizes (http://www.peninsularunners.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) - 1st race is New Year's Day, 2 in Feb & 1 in March (if memory serves me right) - distances range from 5...
