I saw them at $129. Weird or not.
But I am not really trying to stir up a dispute about how much the shoes cost at Bushtuckah -- more just hoping to get some understanding of why the US and Canadian shoe markets are so different.

Re: Canadian Running Shoe Prices -- what gives?
(OP here). Thanks all. I did look around Ottawa -- Sports 4, Bushtuckah, etc. -- and no men's Kinvaras at less than $129. It's a bit frustrating, as I would prefer to buy here. Interesting though, I was looking at trail-running shoes, and La Sportiva Wildcats seem to be priced very similarly in Cda ...

Canadian Running Shoe Prices -- what gives?
Does anybody know why running shoes are so much more expensive this side of the border? (Not rhetorical.) I went to price a pair of Saucony Kinvara's. Best online price for a Canadian retailer I could find was $119.00 plus shipping, taxes. Local bricks and mortar stores had 'em for $129.00 ($145 or ...

I was finding trolling for music too time-consuming and exhausting, so have taken to downloading podcasts. Recognizing that this may be old news, I will offer the the following two podcasts of indie music geared toward runners: IndieSoupRunner -- http://www.indiesouprunner.com/ JogTunes -- http://jo...

Excellent -- I hadn't realized that CTV was running the Daily Show/Stephen Colbert special.

Hands
I think the tights discussion has about run its course, so I will throw another cold-weather question out there -- what do you all wear on your hands when it goes below 0? Last year I wore cheap ski gloves, but they weren't a great solution. My wife bought me some of those thin Nike running gloves a...

This is not the place for THIS debate....but I would like to believe that his sponsors and his employer (given the business that he is in) would be helping out with this somewhat. I guess hindsight is 20, and you can't put the horse back in the barn, etc but I would like to think that his sponsors,...

as a new young runner, it might be helpful for one of the guys to explain why the wind panel is desirable. You are all so friendly here. On the other running forum I visit occasionally, young runners would be expected to discover the answer through experience, and then to serve said experience up f...

If wearing (or not wearing sunglasses) were enough to affect my true happiness about running, I'd have to reexamine my concept of true happiness... I was just thinking the other day how happy a pair of sunglasses would make me. Not that I'm materialistic or anything. I mean they would probably have...

I wondered about bursitis too, but nothing I have read quite fits. hmmm tell us about your shoes - has someone watched your gait and made a recommendation? are they the right type for your pronation/supination status? how many miles do you have on them? does it get worse when you wear high heels? Armchair docs -- diagnosis needed for strange foot.
So I am about 2km into an easy run, and I start to get a pain on the underside of my right foot, sort of at the base of 2nd and 3rd toes. It feels (this may sound weird) like there is fluid or something under the skin, and when I push off I compress the fluid driving it into my tissues and causing p...

I opened this thread expecting Sports 4 in Ottawa/Kanata to be plugged early and often. WTF? I'm new -- have they been blacklisted or something I don't know about? If not, it needs to be high on any list for Ontario. Independent, great staff for the most part, and tons of stuff on sale. (Today I saw...
