Re: Gatineau Park & Ottawa area trail runs - Add yours!
Hello, I'll be visiting family in Ottawa this weekend for Thanksgiving and should have time to fit in a 20km or so. Never been to Gatineau Park, is there a go-to trail for something extremely hilly and technical? If someone could point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated! Thanks, Mo ...

Re: Sulphur Springs 2014
RD got back to me and bumped me down to the 50mile, thank goodness. Way undertrained, silly thing called life getting in the way. I would have grinded out an ugly 100 (again), but this makes things easier. Still paying for 100 though, so looks like I'll be paying over $4 per mile! I'm going to eat m...

Re: Sulphur Springs 2014
Thanks for the replies. I'm not trying to be a hero. Really, I haven't done this run before, so I was just looking for some advice from those who have. I've been training with a backpack, but my shoulders would love to carry a bit less weight. You're right, a pack is over doing it on this course wi...

Re: Sulphur Springs 2014
Now that it's less than three weeks away, I am starting to get a bit nervous. Do you guys take water with you on the course? The guide book says "all runners are advised to carry fluid and food", but I don't understand why I should water around for 50 miles if the longest distance between...

Re: Sulphur Springs 2014
Finally got around to signing up last night, probably not a good idea on almost no training but I've got nothing else to do that weekend. I ran at Sulpher yesterday for the first time this year, wtf? There's so much wide flat gravel sections now, I think it's officially a road course with a few pudd...

Re: looking for a Sulphur bib
I'm in the same boat, haven't trained for 100 but 50m sold out a long time ago. Tell Drew to suck it up and we can slog though 100 together. McPeake isn't running, I need someone else to ***** at all night. Plus I can hide some gels in his beard.

Thanks everyone! Horrible blisters nearly derailed everything, along with the 2nd hottest Western ever. It wasn't pretty, but got my buckle. Fantastic experience, I'll post a report soon.

Re: Sulphur Springs 2013 - Who's In??
I wish I'd known Curly was pondering the 100, I want to do 50m but it's sold out so I just signed up for 100 yesterday! Current training plan is to drop after 80 or 100k, unless I get carried away. My groin problems may be the deciding factor anyway, barely made it through PYP last weekend... 100 mi...

Re: snow storm runs
Shall I assume you were at Sulpher? I headed out there yesterday, 20k loop took 3h 17min! It actually got harder as the temp warmed up and the snow turned into packing snow, the loose stuff early in the run was easier to run in. You do get weird reactions when you high step past people in snowshoes...

For you? Absolutely!
Start tapering now!
Looks like a great list of entrants. I'll be moving that weekend and can't make it. Good luck to all and see you next year!

Great job Kinga, way to tough it out. Not knowing if you'll finish is the best way to go into a race in my opinion! All the more rewarding at the finish.

I've run at Kelso a few times. It's actually relatively flat at the top of the escarpment. Up and down the ski hill, or over near the ruins you'll find some hills. Get ready for repeats though!

Hey Mo, good race report. I have to figure out who you are at Creemore. I am sure we have probably said hi to each other before. I am usually pretty quiet and dont say much to anyone. i focus on running but I am not anti-social!!! And I am 80% sure I will do Beast of Burden 100 in August. I want to...
