Re: Wonderful Wednesday

6km this morning. Didn't get out very early and I found it pretty warm, I'm just not good with heat and humidity. Someday I will get used to it.

Re: Where is Monday?

Went out for a run this afternoon with no plan and ended up doing a very slow 15km. It was a little too hot for my liking and my experiment with a banana flavoured gel did not go well.

Re: Sunny Sunday

No run today, instead I went out on my bike for about 90 minutes. It was a beautiful day today and the river valley was busy.

Tried out my new trail shoes with 30 minutes of running trails in the river valley and dodging mountain bikers.

Re: Running room instructor

I've never instructed, but I have been a group leader a few times and quite enjoyed the experience and found it really rewarding. I think it's important, and was mentioned above, to do it for the right reasons and to set your own goals aside. I did find it a bit of a challenge at times to keep up th...

Re: Muggy Monday

I'm lacking running direction and have no training plan right now so I'm hoping that this will give me some kind of push or accountability. :D
Went for an easy 10km run after work.

Thanks for posting such a thorough review. I've always given some thought to doing this one, but now I'll definitely make it happen.

Re: Loops for the Troops 2012?

Thanks, I hope you have a fabulous run too. So far the weather is looking good so it should be great day to run. Good luck! Hey, Lily, I didn't make it - my boyfriend had an appointment after his eye surgery about an hour after the start of the 10k. Since I run about a 1:06 10k, the math would not ...

Re: Kelowna V Victoria

I did the full in Victoria in 2010 and the half in Kelowna last year. Victoria is definitely my favorite of the two - the course is beautiful and the organization pretty much perfect. The only thing I didn't love was the later start time (9am that year). Also, for slower runners that were not doing ...

Re: Salads

I made another favourite salad around here. Grilled (or roasted) veg, beans, grain of choice and a vinaigrette. I made it tonight by grilling a basket full of zucchini, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, red onion and yellow pepper, adding a pile of cooked chickpeas, a couple cups of cooked quinoa, and a ...

Re: Loops for the Troops 2012?

There may be a bit of wind and not a lot of shade if the sun is out, but it's definitely flat and easy! I'll be doing it again if I can, I had a lot of fun last year. Hey, Lily, I'll be signing up for the 10k on Saturday (as silly me missed the online registration). I hope you have a great race! Th...

Re: Salads

I love potato salad but I hate mayo so I use plain yogurt instead (you pick the amount of fat you want). For more flavour I will put in radishes, dill pickle, carrots and whatever spices I feel like. You can add boiled egg for some extra protein and I've even put in roasted chicken if there is some ...

Re: Loops for the Troops 2012?

I did the 10km in Edmonton last year and enjoyed it. Things may be different this year, but the 10km is one big loop around the base and the 5km is a smaller loop that shares some of the course with the 10km. The half is two loops of the 10km with an extra bit (can't remember where though). The rout...
