Still no running for me. My mojo is MIA. Which is a nice segue to saying I've got a bib for the Army Half for sale. No bites in the Classifieds so thought I would mention it here. PM me if you, or someone you know, is looking for a bib! Asking $65.

Re: Rainy Thursday
Met up with run buddy for 8K early evening. She got back from Boston on Wednesday evening to some stressful family news and I've had a just plain stupid busy week at work plus stressful stuff on the home front. Turns out that is the perfect recipe for a good uptempo run! Lots of intense stuff to tal...

Re: Tuesday...
The schedule called for 5K today so I dug out a blue race shirt and figured dealing with the wind gusts was a small price to pay for the privilege of being able to go for a run.

Re: Boston Marathon 2013
Checking in after a long absence. This is still so unbelievable. As a runner and as a support to other runners, that sense of community is so important. I hope this doesn't scare people away from participating and cheering at major events, but I understand how it might. My heart goes out to those wh...

Lovely night for a run in Ottawa. Got out for 5K easy after the girl's soccer game this evening.

We did 21K this morning. More than half the route was either new or areas we hadn't run in a long time, what a treat!

Out for 10K tonight including 3 mile repeats. Craaaaazy! 1st repeat was into a headwind, 2nd repeat was windy, then it rained, then it got windier and the hail started! Was looking forward to the tailwind for the third but I'm just not that lucky - sunny and no wind

Re: Hello, Tuesday!
Yesterday was supposed to be an easy 6K but then the day went sideways on me. Ended up doing a speedy (for me) 4K before jumping in the car to pick up DD after her dance classes. I can't seem to keep the pace down in these new Brooks PureCadence I've rotated into my collection

Great 16K with run buddy. Two of our running girls joined us and it was lovely to catch up over the run and coffee afterward.

Took my new "fast" shoes out for a spin so my 6K was extra zippy! Now to settle in to my Friday evening: DH is going out with friends and hoping my kids settle down early

Easy 9K with run buddy after work. Still a little lingering fatigue in the legs from ATB but surprised at the pace as we chatted away the whole time! Easy pace has definitely come down over the winter

Decided to go for a gentle run. Figured if it felt wrong I could turn around and come home. The first 1.5K felt like an out of body foot-slapping experience but the other 3.5K went pretty well!

Re: Tada, it's Tuesday!
I'm not feeling much love from my body this morning, as I'm still stiff/sore from ATB. I'm in the same boat, Carm! I think the last 10K at ATB took more out of me than I realized. Would like to do a gentle 5K after work to loosen things up. OTOH, I still don't have my appetite back from Sunday so m...

Re: Race Day Sunday!
Another ATBer checking in. First time at this distance so automatic PB. Realistic goal was 3:15-3:30. On track for sub-3:10 until the wheels fell off at 20K. I had to walk way too much of the last 10K but no choice as everything was cramping and legs felt like lead. Still came in 3:21:29 chip time....

Re: Rest Day Monday
Rest day for me. Took vacation today as I knew I would struggle to get into work with arriving back to Ottawa past my bedtime. Took forever to gear down and get to sleep, slept restlessly and then up with the family. Puttering around the house and then I have 90 minutes with my RMT this afternoon. Ar

Nice little 8K around the neighbourhood. Definitely last run before ATB! My darling husband has just informed me that he thinks the heartburn he's had for the past few hours is actually a gastro bug. I told him to stay the hell away from me. I'm being a sympathetic wife...from a distance!

Re: Will No-one Start the Wednesday Thread?
Had thought about doing a short tempo run tonight but the blazing temps in Ottawa dictated otherwise. It felt like tempo but wasn't on tempo pace for 6K. Probably last run before ATB but may try to sneak in an easy run tomorrow night.

Easy 16K. Between the warm sunshine and shorter distance it felt like I was flying! Easy pace has definitely become faster over this winter.

Re: Thursday, halfway through March
No running for me today, but can't call it a rest day. Hubby's birthday so the kids and I will make the appropriate fuss over him. I really need to do a good stretching session tonight. The twinges are probably real but I'm sure the mental aspect of ATB being 10 days away factors in there, too! I wo...

Thanks for this! This will be my first ATB and I have been curious about THE HILL and the rollers leading up to it. I'm not sure if I'm now more or less worried about the whole affair. I guess it will be whatever it will be.
