Hey, where have you all been ? I'll be running some intervals with Heather at the indoor track. Pretty much been sticking to my plan of running 20k each weekend, and one tempo and a speed session during the week.
Have a great day everyone !

[this type of cramping can also be caused by over-exertion. I often got cramping after trying to do an intense water run workout. Water-running is great for relief on the joints, but I found I had to push wy too hard to get my heart rate to the same level of exertion as running-- in the process I wa...

It was good after several minutes but perhaps I was dehydrated ? Any tricks in dealing with them ? Have a grea...

Going to hit the track as I want to burn off the goodies I have been munching on behind my desk. All the candies and snacks are starting to come out today and just happen to be right near my office. As I am not training for a specific race right now, I don't have the willpower to resist. Only 15 mor...

Thanks for the input gang . Windy, the track here is a complete 400 meter facility with 5 lanes (they have an extra lane or two for the 100 meter stretch) but I think that is what I will do, run a 5000 meter, then a 5k road race, as they are two different types of runs. It is such a rush running a 2...

I should add that I know we have similar experiencs to a certain degree ,but there are some people who say they have no concern at all about how they do and then all the the sudden, they are totally changed by their first race, like night and day. Where as others may have had some inclination to con...

Track verse Road Race times

I would like to set a PB in a 5 k (or 5000 meters on the indoor track-saying 5 k sounds too far indoor) and am wondering the benefits/disadvantages of attempting this on an indoor track as compared to the road ? Obviously there are weather factors and such but what are some other factors one may con...

The allure of racing

I was at a Christmas party (yes, it's that time again) last night and spoke to a friend's wife who was saying she is going to run her first half marathon at NCM (Ottawa) in May 2006. She said she wants to only complete, but then went on to say she knows so many who say the same thing, then upon comp...
