Re: Hump Wednesday

Up at oh-dark-thirty for 5K. It's good to have it done and out of the way, that way I'm not worrying about how, when (or even whether) I'll manage a run later. Still hard to get out of bed and go, though. Work this morning, music this afternoon. Life is good.

Re: Tada, it's Tuesday!

Stayed with the plan and ran my 3K loop this morning -- but I had this in my head, and it was a little chilly out, so I started out too fast (and stayed that way). 3.21K at a 5:52 average pace. Suspect there will be more plodding tomorrow.

Went for a 7K walk with my girls down at the Beach. Beautiful day. We had ice cream. Now there's beer. And I'll be carving a roast chicken in about 20 minutes. It's a good day. :)

3.13 km at 5:59/km. Done. Rest day tomorrow.

Will No-one Start the Wednesday Thread? Isn't it "no one"? It's certainly not "noone." Maybe it should be "nobody." ;) This one didn't start it because I'm (still) not doing anything today. :( Dictionary.com says they're both correct. "Nobody" doesn't sound n...

Will No-one Start the Wednesday Thread?

I guess it'll have to be me. 4.5 km in the fog. Short of plan, but I had to get back home so MrsBG could leave for work. It was enough, and it was difficult, but I'm starting to feel a little more like a (recreational) runner and less like a person who should be getting a ride home in an ambulance.

Well, I'll chalk this up to character building. 8.23 km LSD in 59:05 for an overall 7:11. The wheels came off around 5K and I still had a long hill to conquer. There was a lot of walking. But it's done. Fresh start tomorrow. :-)

Re: The Perfect Runner (Nature of Things Episode)

I thought it was very interesting, especially the biomechanics stuff. I have to say, all I can think about now is barefoot running. And ultra-running. Well, it made me think I would try to run barefoot on the TM sometime just to see how it feels. Is it a good idea? NO! I did that. The belts get a li...

10 minutes of why-is-time-going-so-slowly?, followed by 1 minute of why-is-time-going-so-quickly? 5.92K in 40:23 for 6:50/km overall. Beautiful, mostly sunny with some haze, 19C. Couldn't resist a run on the MGT in the Beach. Running back up the hill was it's usual treat, but I made it, I'm happy wi...

Wet & Wild Tuesday

The hardest part is getting out the door. I'm going out for a couple of times around our 2K loop ... never too far from home, and minimal hills. Still kind of feeling tight from Sunday. Another 12 hour rehearsal day today, and things normalize tomorrow.
