Re: Subsequent to St. Patty's Day Saturday . . .
21k, it didn't rain so I'm happy. Next week I may ask for more, like sunshine or warmth but for this week the absence of rain was great. The workout was supposed to be 19k but my route choice was vetoed and the alternate route was on the long side.

5k of track intervals, 12 laps alternating quick-ish and slower.
It was dry, thankfully but still too cool for shorts at least for me.

A few loops of the local cemetery are in order.

Re: Time change Saturday
So the weather was nice until 10am this morning, unfortunately I was running until 11:45 :? 23k done, we had to cut through a construction barricade to get on to the Burrard St Bridge, the sidewalk on the bridge was perfectly clear so I don't know why they had the stairs blocked off. The weather got...

7-ish k (I forgot to turn my watch on until 10 minutes in) on a drizzly evening. This was one of those days where I really didn't want to run tonight and then I ended up having a really strong run. I was starting to fade toward the end but I'm glad I didn't whimp out on the run.

Bonus day here, the threatened snow held off and the sun shone
Did 19k with the gang and then had a quick intermission to refuel before heading out on the water for Dragon Boat practice. The run felt great though my hips were a bit on the stiff side by the time paddling was done.

Re: Foolish Thursday
My gang foolishly ran hill repeats in this evenings lovely rain. We did a total of 5.8k in 40 minutes including 11 hill repeats. I think the rain let up a bit at one point but between the dark and my fogged, wet glasses I couldn't really tell too much. I know I was definitely soggy by the time we fi...

A belated post, the weather stayed decent on Wednesday so I ran after work. Managed a fairly brisk 6.5k and rewarded myself with a burger and a beer.

Nice day here, perfect for running (4 or 5 degrees), 16k run done.
Then a coffee and breakfast sandwich before s quick wardrobe change for Dragon Boating, I was dreading our first paddle a little bit but I had just enough clothes to make it comfortable. Any dry day is a bonus.

Re: Wet Wednesday
Ran home from work on a lovely evening, had bad timing so had to wait for lights and a freight train. I felt really good on the first hilly section but returned to my usual slogging for the rest of the hills. Run was a great prescription after an irritating day - looking forward to the end of Februa...

Re: Chocolate Mint Day Sunday?
Potluck Sunday for us. I think chocolate mint was about the only thing that wasn't represented on the buffet table  Had a good workout, lots of happy faces and great food afterwards. We are up to 5k in a 35 minute workout so not too bad. I have to check the schedule as I think things accelerate...

Re: Sunny Saturday . . .
17k, not sunny but nice. There was a little drizzle but not enough to amount to anything. I went out to do a couple of extra km before meeting up with the gang. That turned into a sprint when I realized that I didn't have my compass card or any money with me so I had to sprint close to a km home to ...

I too got out to enjoy the beautiful day. I ran down to NW Quay - they obviously had some special events (free admission to some stuff) going on as it was the busiest I have probably seen the Quay. I had to do some dodging and weaving.

15k done, we skytrained downtown to find sidewalks free from black ice. Paths were good except for one small stretch by Science World. My right achilles got to 15k and then refused to run one step more Hopefully it will be up for 16 - 17 for next week.

Today is Saturday!! :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Oops, oh yeah. Well tomorrow's run will be shorter but I predict wet feet again. It turns out my prediction was wrong because everything froze overnight and all the sidewalks were super icey. In the interest of safety and because I couldn't ...

Re: Working Saturday
Crappiest running conditions ever, but I couldn't very well wuss out on the first weekend of KK training, could I? So I put on my trail shoes and headed out on the snow-laden sidewalks for my planned 8 miles. It was mostly trudging, very little running, and the hardest workout I've had in ages. Dee...

Wet Feet Sunday
After a flurry of emails it ended up that five of us out of a group of 10 - 15 braved the snow to run. It ended up being a pretty good run, our plan called for 15k today but we cut it short at 9.5k. With the snow and slush it felt like farther, most of us are battling various niggling ailments (sore...

Easy run-walk with clinic. It's a great group but we will have to split into smaller groups as it is hard to get everyone across the road on a light weight the nearly 40 of us.

What can I say, we're wimps out here. One of the guys was wearing shorts but the rest of us whined about the "cold".

Not quite spring like but definitely a nice day. 14.5k done, first run that has felt comfortable since the running routine hit a big patch of ice for all of December. Got to multi-task - run, coffee, check the outlet mall, skytrain, more coffee, another skytrain and home again.

Didn't see any squirrels on today's run but it was a nice day for a run. It was my first run with the whole gang for the new year. I managed 13k before my Achilles starts complaining too much.

I can't believe I'm starting today's post from the west coast but it looks like it. I'm in Victoria with my brother and sister-in-law. I discovered the Songhees Walkway in Esquimalt thanks to Map my Run. We are staying at the Swans right by the Johnson St bridge so it was super convenient. It was a ...
