Re: US Olympian reveals secret life as a Vegas call girl

I just don't get why it is considered "news" Really? yes, really... Much more important things to consider these days than an adult who did something of her own choosing and just happens to be somewhat well known to certain groups of people. Why her story needs to be deemed newsworthy rig...

Re: Christmas Baking 2012

So here is what I have done so far... - 4 Sugar pies (made a month ago, I got a deal on the main ingredient, whipping cream) – in the freezer, ready to be enjoyed! - 1 Batch of Graham-Chocolate Chip squares – simple recipe attached below. I substituted the semi-sweet chocolate chips for semi-sweet ...

Re: Proper form for Squats

, but squats are probably the most poorly performed exercise in any gym (with bench press a close 2nd). I can whole completely agree on both of these... I find that men have the most problems with squats, simply because of the lack of proper hip involvement. Most guys (mostly due to mobility issues...

Re: Proper form for Squats

I'm definitely doing that - my toes were so "light" that I almost fell backward! 65 done today: 2x25, 1x15 I can't find my Theraband, so I'm going to buy another today. you need to distribute your weight through your arches as well.. think about "flat feet" if that makes sense? ...

Re: Proper form for Squats

There are two distinctly different "camps" on the depth of squats. Before I learned proper form, balance and correction of muscle imbalance, I was of the DO NOT GO BELOW 90 camp... Below 90, when done properly is not hard on your knees. I have PF and have never had a knee issue from squats...

Ooo, just saw this. We call them prisoner squats, harder to go deep, but definitely keeps you honest!

Yes, they are prisoner squats, didn't feel the need to label them though.

Re: Proper form for Squats

It is hard to describe verbally... but I will give you some of the cues I use with clients. Stand with your feet hip width or slightly wider apart. Too narrow and you are torquing your knees. Weight is distributed from arch back. Do not go forward on your toes. Push your hips BACK. Think dirty publi...

Good call on Rev3 Mark! I had totally forgotten about it. I am considering a Rev3 myself. One of my co-workers has done a Rev3 as a pro, and has nothing but good to say about how the series is run. The 20 hour drive does open up a lot for you. Crowd support at B2B is not over the top, I will admit t...

Does it have to be IM Branded? If not, the need to travel to register and the number of options really opens up for you. Beach2Battleship is an awesome USAT event. November, North Carolina. Swim is set up to usually be tide assisted (I am a weak swimmer and had a 32 minute half IM swim!). Bike is re...

It depends - if I get my new oven, it will be snicker doodles, linzer cookies, and peppermint meringues for Christmas baking. If not, it will be whatever Lena's Italian Bakery has available! Could you share your peppermint meringue recipe, please? I'll need to check the amounts at home tonight, but...

Hatori is a nice shoe as is the Kinvara.

I am loving Nike these days (Free, LunarLons).

I ran in my Vibrams once, about 3 years ago... ended up with knots the size of a golfball in each calf. THAT was not fun. :-L

And.. just a note, you can get just replacement bottles if your belt is in good shape/still fits.

I know that we can (and I have ordered for customers) sets of replacement bottles from the fuel belt distributor.

For those that have run this before, have you carried your own water etc.? The website suggests that you don't because of the bridge/tunnel crossing. I have run with a fuel belt (half) as well as hand held (marathon). I have never had any issues with the border crossings carrying my own water. They...
